"This is absurd." I whispered. Looking at Darryl and then back at him. Virginio, merely laughs. Taking a sip of his champagne. Waiting for an answer.

"Gambling." I hear a buzz of whispering and glance quickly to my left. Noticing, most uncomfortably- a crowd that had gathered around us.

"Why? For years, the Salvadors have earned most of their income from the drug market. Why..."

I cut him off. "Reasons been. The government within the past recent years has been devoting a lot of time in cracking down the business. Why must one live with the anxiety of been caught and brought before the court? More importantly, it has become too dangerous. With the Columbians and Mexicans becoming too wild, foolhardy and violent."

"Damn straight." Tore said. "That is why, I will no longer permit my son and his soldiers to take such a risk. Gambling is in truth, far more profitable. We already own sixty percent of the casinos in New York and Las Vegas. Soon we will control those in Chicago. After my daughter's marriage to Lucas."

Darryl, smiles tensely and I kept my eyes forward not really looking at Virginio's face. Darryl eyes shot down at me and I look up for a brief moment and for that split second, I saw an undeniably protectiveness, anger. Something lurked. Dark and vile. Something no longer human.
