"I want to try out for basketball next year… You know our freshman year."

"Real talk?" Avery asked as they began walking again.

"Yup, but I'm not sure…" He paused and then said, "I'll need a ride to those away games; you know?"

"Just try man… I'm sure you'll be able to hitch a ride here and there."

"Yea, but what about the fees?" He asked concerned.

"Hey that's why we're working man… We gonna be rollin' in dough." Avery reminded him as he jabbed him in his shoulder.

"Na man; we're working for them fresh Jordans… and the new Street Fighter, Crash, and Final Fantasy joints." Jayden reminded his friend.

"Yea… Yea… that's right… And don't forget some Phat Farm, Sean John, and Pelle-Pelle…" Avery added with a crooked grin breaking his now beaming face at the thought of having some brand wear.

"Rockawear… and FUBU…" The two friends said in union while Hi-5ing each other and coming into a silent accord.

"We gonna be 'so fresh and so clean-clean…'" Avery finished with a popular lyric from an R&B song. Both boys were grinning from cheek-to-cheek.

"Man we gonna be tight next year. Chicken-heads everywhere." Jayden bragged as the two of them imagined themselves in brand name -threads with lots of cute girls flocking all around them.

"Get outta here man… You like them busted-down shorties…" Avery asserted laughing at his friend's taste in women.

"Hey they need love too…" Jayden responded with quickness. "Besides I'm not trying to get to know them. Hit it and quit it; that way you're not paused long enough for an accident to happen."

"Accident? What the hell?"

"You know a one-on-one… Relationship… That's an accident waiting to happen." Jayden explained.

"Man where do you be getting this shit from? Too much reality TV…"

"You think that cuz you be hanging around getting to know them girls." He said flippantly as they stood watching.

"So… what's wrong with that?"

"Man please… I don't need a last name and I wish they wouldn't give me the first. In-and-out… That way they can't remember what I look like and they won't be coming back.

"Man that's so ignant that I won't even try to answer that stupid shit. C'mon dude we've got stuff to sell." Abruptly they remembered why they had started selling stuff in the first place.
