Next day morning,
Lakshmi called and asked Arya to come to the hospital. She informed him about Adhira state and also how broken she is. Arya was still sounding feeble so Lakshmi spoke up,” Arya, Adhira needs your support. She can recover only if you are strong enough. So please come to the hospital and she needs you more than anyone else in this world.”
Arya understood his mom’s words. He thought,” If I myself am broken then undoubtedly she must be more painful than me. Mom is right. She needs me for sure. I must be with her at this moment.”
He pacified himself and got ready to meet Adhira. Ram saw him getting dressed so he enquired,” Are you going to the hospital?”
He looked at him and said,” Yes.”
Ram nodded his head and asked,” Do you want me to accompany you?”
He thought for a moment and said,” No. I will go and send mom back home. Let her take rest while I can be with Adhira.”
Ram also thought that it is better to leave the two alone. So he nodded the head and left the room. He went to Gayathri and asked her to pack the breakfast for Adhira and hand over to Arya.
Gayathri packed the food and handed over to him. She also asked if she can come along but he declined and started towards the hospital.
All the way Arya was thinking many ways to console her. He thought, ‘What am I supposed to say to her? What if she asks why I wasn’t there? What if she gets mad at me? I can’t find any soothing words that can console her. I must be a terrible husband.’
He was mad at himself for not being there with her when she needed but he didn’t want to see her wrecked as it aches his heart the most.
He reached the hospital and walked towards her room. He breathed heavily before opening the door also he told himself, ’Don’t cry, Arya. Be strong.’
He closed his eyes gathered all his inner strength and breathed heavily. He thought to himself,’ I can do this. I need to do this’ and opened the door.
He saw Adhira who was lying on the bed and she hasn’t woken yet due to the injection. Lakshmi and Dhivya saw him. Seeing him Dhivya immediately stood up but she didn’t speak a word.
Arya signaled to Dhivya to sit but she didn’t and continued standing. He then placed the breakfast aside in the table and spoke up,” You both go home and refresh yourself. I will be with her and take care of her. You both must be tired looking after her all night.”
