The sun felt warm on my face, though I knew that my time here, waiting for a life with a demon lover was ending. I would have to leave… away from Dantalion. Every inch of my body seared with a new poison, the brands held powers over me, something even my own could not overcome. The ancient's vision… my immortality… I could no longer distinguish the old Laurel from the new. I felt different, more submissive to the mercy of this New Order. The summoning would change our destinies forever, and Dantalion's was no longer a part of mine.

Rowan was involved deeper than he knew, and it was his place to lead Dantalion's legions of demons while still trying to protect me. Each minute I felt my true identity surfacing… more like them. My visions no longer allowed me to see the future, or even remember my past. Whatever initiates were joining into the Brotherhood of the Four Kings of Hell, they would soon find out what Rowan and I had come to know… they sought one power and one purpose only… world dominion.

I glanced up, the sun flickering behind the trees, playing tricks on me. I could swear I saw Dantalion moving his way in my direction, Rowan, King Vine, Count Druitte and Count Halphas close behind. As they came near, I searched out his dark eyes, realizing how close in resemblance Prince Sitri was to Dantalion. I was deceived. Besides his resemblance to Dantalion, Prince Sitri also held similar demonic qualities, one of which was inflicting love. Although all demonic powers were diminished, my four guardians still maintained small traces, as minute as they might be. Dantalion's curse played a huge part in his perpetual youth, but his skills as a master alchemist could have something to do with why Sitri had such physical similarities.

Rowan grabbed my wrists, holding them up for the others to see. "The brands! They're starting to possess her…This what we have to contend with now!"

"No…I…. thought… he looked like Dantalion," I defended my sanity the best I could. "It's just… his eyes…they seemed to draw me in."

"No my dear girl, we no longer hold demonic powers…" Sitri defended his honor.

"I could feel your presence… calling me," I protested.

"So beautiful with words," Rowan replied sarcastically.

"You followed me?" I can't believe it… you heard what we said!" I turned away feeling betrayed.

"Look Laurel - we can't let you out of our sight, remember?" Rowan argued.
