"What's going on with you?" Rowan complained. "You don't even look eighteen anymore."
The forest cast shadows, concealing the demons in between the trees like a veil, a mask Dantalion wanted to hide behind.
"It's part of the demonic curse. I was to retain perpetual youth, but I guess since I ascended the ranks of Guardian, it doesn't apply anymore… Why… how old do I look?"
"Hmm… over twenty….at least," Rowan laughed.
"I believe you are lying," Dantalion argued. "When we get back to the Realm, we will summon the 'Succubus'."
"Yea, that's a good plan," Rowan played along with him. "You never knew the story about Gwynnedd's exile at the Realm of Goetia, did you?"
Dantalion shook his head. "Levi enlightened me. Had I known the true reason for her curse, I could have used it to my benefit. The Angel of Death will pose an interesting challenge for Satan."
"I'm not sure what to expect from the others, but I crossed Belial when we first made our way to the Realm of Goetia. He didn't like my leading the armies…. or, that I was a half-demon," Rowan confided. "In fact, his temperament was damn nasty!"
"Yes…. he joined the Four Kings of Hell to rule under the New Brotherhood. We will have to be clever with their trials to be certain they do not pass. Then they will be re-sealed and unable to rule their infernal Realms."
"What happens then?" Rowan asked.
"I will return to the third heaven as Guardian," Dantalion quickened his pace as they grew closer to the Realm of Goetia.
"Wait…. What about being free of Lilith and Laurel? You said you would set things right," Rowan argued.
"Yes. Once the Four Kings of Hell are re-sealed, Laurel will be released of her brands and their curse. She will be returned back to the second heaven."
Rowan looked nervously at Dantalion. "There's something you should know. "I sent Halphas, Vine, Druitte and Sitri back to watch over Laurel. Possession took hold quicker than you might have imagined. I remembered what you said about our immortal blood being what they wanted. Laurel went into shock. I had to save her… feed to survive, ya know? My half-demon blood mixed with her full fledged demon blood…. what does it mean Dantalion? Did I create some type of hybrid demon or something?"
