"I'll tell you later."
"Ooh secrets. I love it," she said.
"Secrets already?" Garrett said. "Caitlin," "You'll like this one. I promise." His pouty lips looked very kissable, but Caitlin refused to give in with her grandma standing in the same room. "Trust me."
"Okay. Now that life is back to normal, for now, I'm going to go home." He shook his head and grabbed his stomach. "Why do I feel that my world's about to turn upside down and inside put?"
"Because you're getting married to the only woman you have ever truly loved," Rachel said, squeezing his shoulder and giving him a quick peck on the cheek. "Run along so we girls can talk wedding details. You are welcome to stay and participate in the wedding plans."
"No, thank you for the wonderful offer, but I do have things to do back home." He rubbed the back of his neck as if trying to release all the built-up tension that happened in the last few second. "Caitlin, I'll see you later." He blew her a kiss, which made her laugh.
"What was that devilish look you flashed me when I mentioned dress?"
Caitlin ran upstairs, taking the steps three at a time. With the notebook held tight to her chest, she ran downstairs and opened it to the page.
"Imagine Emmaline designing your wedding dress when you were fourteen. What a hoot!" Rachel ran her crooked fingers over the design and darted her gaze between it and Caitlin. "She mentioned something about this, but never showed me the sketch. It's exquisite. Are you making any changes?"
Caitlin studied the dress and pictured herself in it. "It's perfect the way it is."
"My thoughts, exactly. Well, let's get busy."
"What?"
"We need to measure to buy material."
"You're going to sew my wedding dress?"
"Of course. I was known as quite a seamstress in my day."
"I didn't know, but what about the B&B?"
"It can wait. This is more important. It's not everyday your only granddaughter gets married. Do you know how involved this town will be with your wedding? More than they did for Jen's wedding."
"Jen doesn't know." Caitlin excused herself and called her best friend, who screamed so loud Rachel heard it downstairs and laughed. "Plans, details?" Jen asked.
"I just got engaged, girlfriend. Give me some time to plan something. Anyway, I need your expert advice."
