The man looked up at her as his face softened.

“Anytime,” he said as he stepped aside. She walked briskly to the exit and waited for a taxi. Everyone was being picked but not her. She hated the attention from her family, surprising them would be a great idea. They were expecting her but not today. All she wanted was to attend her father’s funeral and get back to her life.

She ran her fingers through her hair, twirling her curls around her index finger. She was only twenty eight years old yet she looked younger than her age. She was beautiful with long lashes, perfect and natural blond hair and bright blue eyes thanks to her mother’s genes.

She squinted at the taxi window as the driver pulled up. She was not desperate to get home. The taxi driver helped her put her bag in the trunk and they sped off.
