"What weapon?" Lily asked her.

"Why, the Sorcerer’s Stone, as I have already told you!" answered Rhia, as though explaining something that was common knowledge.

"The stone in Lily's possession is called the Summoning Stone," said Dorain, and it is hardly a weapon of destruction, though I suppose great harm could come of it were it to fall into the wrong hands."

"But come now," interrupted Julina, "tell us your tale, Rhia. Who are your people and where do they hail from?"

"I hardly know where to begin," said Rhia, and thought a moment. "You truly do not serve the Demons?"

Dorain and Julina exchanged a look. "We not serve them," said Dorain. "We destroy them. Just as we intend to destroy their Master, one day."

Rhia was shocked. "Destroy them? Are you mad? Who would dare such a thing?"

Dorain laughed ingenuously. "We dare! Perhaps we are a little mad. But we dare."

Rhia chewed this over in silence a moment. "But this is also unlike the legends we were told. I had always thought that the Demons could not be destroyed."

"Rhia," Julina asked, "do you live in the Burning Lands?"

"Of course not!" Rhia blurted. "Nothing lives in the Burning Lands. There is nothing there to sustain life of any kind."
