Chapter 466: Vile characters grinding against vile characters

Inside the pot, was a catty of simmering-hot pork shoulder. Its date coloured fatty skin bobbled slightly atop the snow white plate, with fresh green lettuce surrounding it; its visuals battering against any onlooker. When Sheyan poked a chunk of piping red meat into his mouth, he immediately felt it melting in his mouth. Its fatty skin was chewy from being slightly burnt. Sheyan couldn’t help ferociously scooping 2-3 spoons of rice into his mouth.

The long scallions at the bottom most layer of the plate had a distinct flavour, infiltrating into the succulent ooze of the fatty skin; further enhancing it with an intoxicating scent of condiments. The meaning of ‘fat without grease’ was totally infused within. The taste of the pork shoulders was distinctively authentic. Sheyan wolved down his meal ravenously, and even soaked his rice with the sumptuous gravy, before finishing his meal cleanly.

After settling the bill, Sheyan decided to continue preparing raw materials for his gene-mixes. Instead, Sanzi located him and informed him that Uncle Dasi wishes for him to inspect the progress of the boat construction. Sheyan knew this matter was basically equivalent to Uncle Dasi’s driving force, a goal that supported his current vitality. Furthermore, he was about to leave for Thailand in a few days, and couldn’t accompany Uncle Dasi. Thus, he planned to quickly settle the affairs of the boat first.

Although boats and cars were both transportation platforms, and would frequently be hailed in the same category; in actual fact, manufacturing a car was much more difficult than constructing a boat. Especially for a boat having a 500 ton displacement with a 49 metres iron-crust bull trawler that Sheyan requested. The technicalities involved was so low, it would cause one’s hair to stand in anger.

Citing a simple reference; Taizhou prefecture in China alone houses more than 100 ship servicing companies and over 70 ship manufacturing enterprises. Just consider the automobile industry in China, were there more than a hundred manufacturers? Therefore, even a private port like Xiwu pier was host to 2-3 ship services. As long as the capital was sufficient, they would even accept some ship manufacturing endeavours.

The shipyard that Sheyan transacted with, was a company recommended by Dashu* known as Yongtai. The owner was an amiable looking kind man that displayed smiles and nods every time they met, resembling an old fisherman like Uncle Dasi akin to being familiar at first sight. The capital that Sheyan churn out was adequate for the old boss to be satisfied with his profits. Thus, the boss did his utmost for this task. Furthermore, the idling Uncle Dasi would often pay a visit to inspect, naturally, even the quality of raw materials utilized were selected meticulously.

(TN: Dashu is the chief big brother of Xiwu pier)

After Uncle Dasi became a half-cripple, his heart had aged by a good dozens of years; being tied with the mental constraint of being ‘useless’ and ‘trash’. If Sheyan wasn’t adept at figuring a way to console him, he could’ve possibly fallen into depression long ago.

This, while calling Sheyan over to survey the boat, Uncle Dasi had an attitude like that of a little child when scoring 100 marks in a test; excitedly desiring to bring the results home. He was eager to prove he wasn’t useless, that his shining glory days weren’t past him yet.

Who would’ve expected that when they just arrived at Yongtai shipyard, they would witness the owner, Hebo Zheng, quarrelling intensely with his son. This was the first time Sheyan was meeting the son, remembering Sanzi mentioning his name to be Dabing. That brat had a round face and his mohawk hair was dyed red, appearing like that of an unspoken ugly. Upon noticing Sheyan and the rest heading over, he shoved both arms fiercy and pushed his old man away. Then, he turned over and tilted his chin while he waved his finger at them.

“Oi. You can collect the boat you ordered next year, what’re you doing here now?? Hurry up and scram!”

His statement was like thunder from a clear sky to Uncle Dasi. Uncle Dasi immediately pointed at the nearly completed manufacturing boat stationed inside the dock, as he proclaimed with a trembling voice of grief and indignation.

“That is the boat I’ve ordered, why can I only collect it near year?”

The foul-mouthed Dabing immediately stomped over and lashed out.

“You damned old fart! Having two hands crippled already, you still wish to have your legs broken? This is my family’s shipyard, my words are final!”

His words touched the agonizing heartstrings of Uncle Dasi, causing his complexion to turn ashen as he clutched his chest and coughed before finally easing up a little. Witnessing such a ruckus, Sheyan’s evil tendencies were aroused. Instead, he whispered some words to Sanzi, allowing Sanzi to run off immediately. Luckily at this moment, an angry pale faced Hebo rushed over, and slapped Dabing’s head with a ‘pa’! His hands were shivering and his lips trembling as he rebuked.

“Are you trying to make me lose all my face?”

With a shove, Dabing pushed his old man away and snarled loudly.

“I’m warning you. This boat better be offloaded into the water and handed over to me within a week. If not, nobody is going to rear an old man like you!”

Following that, Sheyan marched forward and shielded Uncle Dasi behind him before unhurriedly announcing.

“Fine! It’s fine if you don’t wish to hand over the boat. Refund to us our 4 million (taiwan dollars) payment!”

When Dabing heard that, it was as if he had heard the funniest joke on this earth. He sauntered over and mocked.

“Refund?”

He continued with contempt.

“You’re trying to cheat my family? Everyone had agreed face to face, on constructing the boat here, you dare to renege on your words? Fine! Then compensate us for psychological losses!”

Dabing continued his ruckus with a spit, and stamped his feet over his own phlegm; as though Sheyan would end up like his phlegm if he continued pestering him.

Sheyan gently responded.

“So you wish to be unreasonable now? On account of Dashu’s face, we chose this shipyard to build our boat. Your appetite is indeed huge, actually coveting to swallow our few million dollars? Aren’t you afraid your belly will burst from such an overload?”

After hearing Dashu’s name, Dabing’s face turned somewhat restless, but he immediately fumed out viciously.

“Don’t try and use that old scum, Dashu, to oppress me! I, Dabing, wouldn’t even acknowledge the old heavens when I’m mad. You say that my house accepted your money, where’s the proof?”

In such a region like Xiwu pier, the amount of unlicensed shops was innumerable; why would one bother to keep physical receipt proofs? Uncle Dasi’s vision darkened upon hearing that, knowing that the opposing was reneging on their debt, he almost beat his chest in grief. Instead, Sheyan leisurely tug at the nerves of Dabing. Eventually 20 minutes later, a sudden “tu tu tu tu’ obsolete motorcycle rumbling resounded from outside. Closely following, 3-4 thugs strided in with large steps.

Heading the front was shockingly that stout but strong Matong. He continuously flicked his greasy black long hair with confidence, as he pointed towards Dabing and berated.

“You, you, you. You actually dare to f**king cheat brother Yan?!”

Such threatening words coming out from Matong’s stuttering mouth indeed appeared rather comical. Dabing’s face instantly turned flustered.

“Matong, I’m telling you. This issue isn’t something you can meddle with.”

Piak! Matong directly slapped Dabing, as blood trickled out from Dabing’s nose. It was as though Dabing had spun round in circles, as he stood sluggishly where he was. Matong was an individual adept in utilizing slaps and fists to communicate with others, a stark contrast to little rascals like Dabing who only knew how to engage in glib talking.

Observing their big brother acting out, the 3 underlings following behind, Si’er, Daliu and Danta, raised their baseball bats and iron chains and swarmed towards Dabing. Bam! Bam! Pa! Pa! Punches and kicks coupled with unceasing torrent of profanities unloaded, as muffled echoes of beaten flesh sounded out. The spectating Sanzi was currently radiant with delight, as he cheered them on.

Finally, Matong slowly fished out a handphone from his pockets, and begun reading from his recorded notes towards the presently being beaten up Dabing.

“I, I, I, I **** your mother, and bang your granny on you, you, you your wife, your ma, ma, mo, mother…….”

This fat stuttering male blabbered non-stop for a good 7-8 minutes, before he stroked his greasy crow black long hair with satisfaction; and finally, muttered to himself.

“The, the feeling of not not being re..retorted is grea, great.”

At this moment, Sheyan then spoke to the stupefied Uncle Dasi.

“Previously, when was the date we agreed to receive the boat?”

Uncle Dasi pondered briefly before hastily exclaiming.

“The fifth of the next month, the same day as Sanzi’s birthday!”

Sheyan plucked out a thousand bucks (taiwan dollar) and tossed it to Matong.

“You heard that?”

Matong nodded while bending his back. His brows raised with delight as he accepted the money.

“This this is really…….how can we allow br brother Yan to spend this.”

Yet while he stammered, he stashed the dollar notes into his pocket and hastily stomped forward. With one foot, he stomped against the badly bruised Dabing’s face. After another few ferocious stomps, he pulled Dabing up by his hair; positioning his face near him before warning.

“The first day of next month, brother Yan wants to see a perfectly manufactured boat before his eyes. If he cannot collect his boat, or any mishaps befalls it, then your old man can come and redeem your funeral casket.”

Sheyan drooped down his eyes as he brought Uncle Dasi back with him, scoffing concurrently.

“I reckon this boat is being built rather remarkably. I wonder how large the chiller compartment would be?”

Raising the topic of the boat, Uncle Dasi immediately forgot about the incident that had just happened, as he distractedly replied.

“I previously heard someone mentioning a whole section, but it doesn’t appear to be that proper……”

“Oh, then Uncle Dasi, you must spend more effort in that aspect. In the past, when we frequently encountered opposing winds on our voyage back home, it was a pity that we had to throw away those rotten fish.”

“Mn mn! That’s true!”

“.........”

“......”

**************

Night time. Sheyan was presently noisily concocting the materials needed for his gene-mixes. Suddenly, he heard consecutive knockings against the strictly locked underground door, before it transpired into urgent smackings!

Sheyan frowned as he hastily stored his items before proceeding to unlock the door, before watching as Sanzi supported Matong’s subordinate, Danta, into the room. Danta’s complexion was deathly pale, devoid of a single blood. Instead, Sanzi remained relatively calm. After seeing Sheyan, Danta broke into a fit of gasps, as he clutched his chest attempting to force out his words amidst the panting.

Sheyan’s expression turned wary as he inquired.

“What happened, why are you so flustered? The sky isn’t collapsing. Sanzi support him to sit and bring him a glass of warm water!”

As he drank a mouthful, Danta’s hand remained shivering excessively, completely oblivious to the warm water splashing against his pants.

“Brother Yan, shit has happened. Brother Matong is in critical state in the hospital now! That scumbag Dabing is actually backed by the Vietnamese Largering gang!’

Sheyan curiously asked.

“The hooligans in this portion of Taiwan, are but small fries. They wouldn’t even have the chance to travel to Vietnam, how did he form relations with those people?”
