Chapter 321: Asshole

Ming Yu could not stop so many Gargoyle Rats. Jiang Qiling was not capable of killing all the rats, either. What was worse, many people would be poisoned and turned into human rats.

Lu Li thought he should leave before it was all out of control. Once it got too chaotic, he couldn’t leave even if he wanted to. Once some people, even one, were poisoned, most of the people here would die.

"Go—"

Lu Li didn’t hesitate. Many people would come to the end of their lives here tonight, but he couldn’t do anything about it. If he stayed, he would die as well. If he was very capable, he would have offered some help.

Jiang Qiling actually was reasonable in her words. To save people was doing a favor, but not to save people was not wrong, either. More importantly, Ming Yu and Lu Li did not have the competence to save everyone.

Ming Yu ran at the top of his speed. However, because of the gravity in here, Ming Yu’s speed could only be comparable to average Fate Wheel Realm warriors.

"Squeak, squeak~"

Gargoyle Rats rushed to crowds from all directions. Soon, there were miserable cries everywhere. Those that were not powerful enough were bitten by Gargoyle Rats and they turned into human rats quickly. They made threatening moves and they rushed toward their companions. Now, their eyes had become dark blue in color.

"Whoosh, whoosh, whoosh~"

There were some people that didn’t have time to reach the opening. They had to climb up the mountains. Luckily, the mountains were not too steep so people could make their way up despite the abnormal gravity here.

"Ah~~"

The suction generated in the caves of ghosts after eruption sucked many people half way up on the mountain. They fell and rolled into the caves of ghosts while shouting in horror…

Ming Yu was one of the fastest people. He had made it out of the valley. He saw Jiang Qiling who was still fighting outside the valley. Lu Li shouted to her, "Jiang Qiling, come with me."

Ming Yu rushed over. Jiang Hong nodded and said, "Lady Qi, you go with Young Master Lu. I will protect you from behind."

"I am not leaving!"

Jiang Qiling pouted. Her expressions suggested she was still being mad about Lu Li yelling at her. She looked at Lu Li coldly and said, "Aren’t you wrong about me? Why do you care? Also, I am powerful. I don’t need you, a warrior of the Noble Lord Realm warrior, to protect me."

The miserable cries in the valley never stopped, and the number of casualties were hard to calculate right now. Gargoyle Rats screamed and they could get out at any minute now.

A glint of coldness arose in Lu Li’s eyes. He didn’t have the luxury of time to speak nonsense with Jiang Qiling. He shouted, "I will ask you this one last time. Are you coming with me or not? If not, I will leave you behind."

Jiang Qiling sneered, turned around and coldly said, "Get lost, then. I will not go with you."

"Let’s go!"

Lu Li was not so honorable as to wait for her. He shouted and Ming Yu took him away at once without any pause.

Jiang Qiling looked to where Lu Li went, stomped her feet and said, "Lu Li, you asshole."

"Lady Qi, let’s go."

Jiang Hong grabbed Jiang Qiling and rushed to another direction with other warriors. Since Jiang Qiling didn’t want to go with Lu Li, then they must take her to Jiang Hao.

"Run, come on~"

More people came out from the valley and ran, but not all the Gargoyle Rats were killed outside and there were more coming from the inside of the valley. Several people were bitten. The others were fleeing to all directions in a chaotic manner.

It was like hell in the valley. Those that couldn’t get out all turned into human rats. They searched for anybody they could attack in a horrifying way.

There were more passengers and escorts altogether, but only seven or eight hundred of them managed to get out. There were more Gargoyle Rats outside. How many people could survive in those hundreds of people?

"Bang!"

"Bang!"

Lu Li broke the jade talisman in his hand. He and Ming Yu were separated from the other people and they could run into Gargoyle Rats at any time now. Ming Yu could cope with several of them, but what if there were dozens of hundreds of rats?

This was not a safe area anymore with more than 100 Gargoyle Rats rushing out from the valley. Ming Yu was afraid to stop. He kept running and running.

"Squeak, squeak~"

From their front left came several strange noises. Then three things shot out from the purple steam. Ming Yu released his Bead of Life at once and then shouted, "Force, contain them!"

With the moving winds and clouds, a surge of qi and energy contained those incoming Gargoyle Rats. Ming Yu took Lu Li and they went to their right this time.

However…

The space was so unstable that Ming Yu’s Force couldn’t make a big difference. When they were more than 1000 feet away from Gargoyle Rats, those rats could move again, and they chased Lu Li and Ming Yu down.

"Whoosh, whoosh~"

When the Gargoyle Rats were close enough, Ming Yu released Force again, then he unsheathed the silver sword on his back and cut at the rats.

With a ray of light, he hit one Gargoyle Rat. The rat was smashed away with a booming sound and blood spurted out from its body. However, it got back up and rushed on again after it rolled on the ground for a bit.

"Their defensive abilities are so powerful!"

Lu Li was surprised. He had an idea. Asking Ming Yu to let go of him, he moved about in the area. Instantly, there were shadows all over the place. Lu Li had released 100 clone shadows so it looked like there were people everywhere.

"Let’s go~"

Lu Li went back to Ming Yu who rushed forward at once. The remaining Gargoyle Rats could not tell which one was which. They charged towards the shadows but failed to hit anything.

Shadows disappeared gradually. By the time all the 100 shadows disappeared, Lu Li was taken to a place more than one mile away. The Gargoyle Rats could no longer keep track of them.

"Young Master, you have made stunning progress in Apparition Skill. But… I think I can tell which one is the real person with my psychic power?"

Ming Yu exclaimed. Being able to generate 100 clone shadows was already something amazing. If Lu Li could manage to shield off psychic powers, then the skill would be incredible.

Lu Li forced a smile and said, "I haven’t mastered it completely yet. I still need some time."

They went on. Lu Li had left behind some marks along the way for Yu Huashen to catch up with them. In the time for one incense stick to burn, they once again ran into some Gargoyle Rats. This time, there were more than 10 of them, not three.

Lu Li released his Apparition Skill at once to generate 100 clone shadows while Ming Yu took him away quickly to a small hill to hide.

The Gargoyle Rats couldn’t tell the fake ones apart. They all rushed towards the shadows which left a window of time for Lu Li and Ming Yu to get away.

Ming Yu felt like he could breathe again after running away successfully this time. Fortunately, Lu Li could do something. Otherwise, he would die of tiredness if he had to release Force along the way. Also, there would be more and more Gargoyle Rats. Ming Yu could not kill all of them. The end, in that case, would be hard to predict.

The two were on the run for a long time. From time to time, they would encounter some Gargoyle Rats. They had changed their directions so many times that they had no idea where they were now. They could only go where they thought was safe.

For many times, they both wanted to go hide somewhere to wait for Yu Huashen and Little White, but then there would be some Gargoyle Rats coming at them, making them miserable.

"Ah~"

"Run, run fast!"

From the distance came people’s shouts of fear and shock. The purple steam was so thick that Lu Li and Ming Yu could not see clearly. Ming Yu turned to Lu Li to ask for his opinion. Lu Li said, "Let’s go take a look."

With Apparition and Ming Yu’s Force, they could get away from even more than 100 Gargoyle Rats now so it was not particularly dangerous. If they could save some people, then then more the better. Better save one life than build a seven-story pagoda.
