Chapter 683: The Almighty Lord

Zugra soon realized what was wrong with Lord Arethoc.

His aura!

The aura of Lord Arethoc remained the same, but Zugra could tell that there were some adventurers mixed within. He quickly adjusted his mental state since he was very sensitive to the aura of demons.

Otherwise, he probably would have become the first wild Boss to escape without a fight.

"Defiler, leave Lord Arethoc immediately, or else you'll face the rage of the demon army. You will be torn into pieces!" Zugra said in demon language first before he repeated itself in the common tongue.

Hachi Chan, who was in charge of the main body didn't think that she would be able to speak.

"You're the one who's going to be torn into pieces."

Lord Arethoc had a loud voice, like the sound of thunder on a summer's day. It travelled far and all the demons nearby gathered.

At first, they were caught by surprise too; they had the same reaction as Zugra.

For them, the strangest part of the situation was the language that Lord Arethoc spoke, but of course, you couldn't expect Hachi Chan to speak demon. The common tongue was a low-class thing in the world of demons.

However, these demons didn't attack the enemy as Zugra had hoped.

At the very least, they wouldn't attack the body of Arethoc. Instead, they stood around quietly, and some of them even turned to leave, as if they didn't want to help someone who couldn't even guard a corpse properly.

This was the situation that Lu Li had been relying on.

Otherwise, how else would he be able to challenge a level 45 Boss? It simply wasn't possible with their team of unbalanced classes.

What gave him the courage to take a risk wasn't only these monsters staying out of the fight. When Lu Li controlled the spear to swing with force, a rain of fire shadowed over Zugra.

Zugra couldn't even react in time to summon an energy shield.

Just this alone had caused the Boss to take a few thousand points of damage. It was only when the dark-grey Warlock energy shield formed that he finally escaped from danger.

Arethoc's body only had a little bit of demon energy left within. The main energy source was the Inferno Power Core, which Lu Li and the others were using to control the body of Lord Arethoc. These five power cores were enough to sustain them for an hour's worth of battle time.

If they couldn't end the battle within an hour, they might as well quit the game.

"Cain's Left Hand, go forward," Lu Li instructed.

His name was a bit confusing in relation to the section he controlled, which was the left leg. As such, Lu Li addressed him by his full name. When he heard the instruction, he immediately took a giant step forward.

Lord Arethoc tripped for a bit, but since Lu Li was controlling the right hand, the spear still successfully sliced into Zugra's shield.

The damage wasn't as high as before because Zugra had summoned an energy shield. These energy shields were similar to a Mage's shield but was made of energy borrowed from demons.

As Zugra was constantly attacked, he became increasingly enraged.

He first summoned his pet – a gigantic Inferno – which wasn't the same as those weakened Infernos outside.

These pure-blood demon companions could help a Warlock sustain in a long battle.

"Water Fairy, smash it!" Lu Li shouted as he continued to stab one end of the spear into Zugra's face. He reminded her to use the skills on the left hand, which were the most suitable to deal with Infernos.

The left hand jabbed across the air and quickly landed on the Inferno which was sent flying.

This punch was Lord Arethoc's signature skill – Arethoc's Straight Punch. It came with a multitude of effects such as Knockback and Smash, and would kill most players in one shot. Even if they didn't die, they would be debilitated with the debuffs it applied.

Lu Li didn't stop here; he instructed the two legs to pursue and forced Zugra backwards.

If they were fighting in their own bodies, they would have a very tough time. However, with Lu Li controlling Arethoc, the situation was entirely differeny – they were pressuring the Boss instead.

"Lu Li, we can't defeat this boss within one hour can we?" Deep Watersong asked worriedly.

He had calculated the damage that Lord Arethoc dealt and compared it to the 650,000 HP that the wild Boss had. He felt like Lu Li was being too optimistic.

"Don't worry, it'll be easier later," Lu Li replied.

After taking a few more blows, the dark-grey energy shield cracked apart like an egg shell.

"The ones down the bottom, hold still" Lu Li shouted loudly.

He then lifted the spear to his chest and jabbed it out consecutively with all of his strenght.

...

The damage grew higher each time, totaling 20,000 damage after nine thrusts. This was just the beginning – the bottom players continued moving the body forward and Lu Li's attacks never stopped.

Besides the high damage, Arethoc's spear also applied negative effects like Bleed, Armor Penetration, Stun…

In Lu Li's previous life, players had once dreamed of controlling Lord Arethoc forever – it would definitely be an invincible existence. Even if players could only fully control it for a few seconds, they would definitely be able to one-shot any opponents of the same level.

"This is too good!" Water Fairy exclaimed.

"How else could we kill this Boss? Even if we could tank the damage, we wouldn't even be done by night time. Wild Bosses regenerate health too fast," Lu Li replied swiftly.

"Why are you the one controlling the right hand?" From her tone, Water Fairy didn't sound too happy.

"Uhm…" Lu Li felt the sweat drip down his forehead; he had forgotten how violent Water Fairy was. No wonder why it felt like she wasn't in a good mood today – she was unhappy that she didn't get to control the strongest right hand.

"Can we swap now?" Water Fairy asked, envious of the damage that the spear dealt.

"Sorry, it's too late to change now," Lu Li apologized.

"Hmph, next tine this refreshes, we're coming back again for it," Water Fairy said grumpily.
