Chapter 596: Brutal Extortion

In fact, Witch Doctor Zum’rah was actually quite a poor Boss. No one had ever heard of him dropping anything good.

Zum’rah’s Magic Staff was his signature item and was considered to be exquisite, but only players who weren’t at the top-level were interested in it. Someone like Lu Li would think that the Staff was quite mediocre.

As for Zum’rah’s Bracers, not one Cloth-armored player in Lu Li’s group even looked at them.

"One handed…" Remnant Dream exclaimed as she looted the body.

Was it going to be Zum’rah’s Bracers? Lu Li was already disappointed – it wasn’t as good as Zum’rah’s Magic Staff, which lots of players in the guild were willing to spend points to redeem.

"…Mold…" Remnant Dream took another deep breath.

Lu Li was shocked. That couldn’t be right – the Bracers didn’t come in a Mold form. They were just regular cloth Bracers that enhanced damage.

"Outfit!" The little girl was absolutely satisfied to see her teammates staring at her dumbly. They had no idea what she had just said.

"It’s a Mold for a Gold grade equip – a glove." Now that she had her fun, Remnant Dream revealed what the item actually was.

Witch Doctor Gloves (Gold): Mold.

Lu Li then remembered that his backpack was still carrying a Voodoo Breastplate (Gold) Mold. There were only two sets for Zul’Farrak and they now had part of both of them.

It was too bad that the Voodoo set wasn’t for Thieves.

It wasn’t that the Witch Doctor was bad, nor was it that Lu Li was so selfish that he only thought about himself, but the Witch Doctor set wasn’t suitable for March Rain. She was purely a healer and didn’t deal much damage. What made the Witch Doctor set stand out was its great healing potential and how it increased the Priest’s Shadow damage output.

"Give it to March Rain and see how effective it is," Lu Li said as he assigned the equipment.

"There’s also this skill book – Shadow Bolt Rain," Remnant Dream announced as she squatted down and picked up a Skill Book.

"Dammit," Lu Li couldn’t help but swear. He had just thought that he had never seen anyone with Shadow Bolt Rain before and now it had dropped just to mess with him.

The System was self-aware!

This was a Warlock Skill book, which would with no doubt go to Sesame Rice Ball. There was no point in thinking about why a Witch Doctor would drop a Warlock Skill book; there was simply no explanation.

Of course, even if a Warlock learned Shadow Bolt Rain, it didn’t mean that they would fire a barrage Shadow Bolts. It was just a regular area-of-effect skill.

In terms of lethality, this area-of-effect skill wasn’t necessarily stronger than Rain of Fire.

Additionally, the Boss also dropped a rare material – Zum’rah Bacon – which was used for cooking.

After thinking about how this guy dealt with corpses all day, few players had to courage to eat its bacon.

"We did it, we finally did it!" While clearing the monsters on the path, Lu Li received a message from Water Fairy. The moment he opened it, he could hear the excitement of the female tycoon.

"Congratulations. There are a few points to the next Boss you need to remember. When you step on the graves outside, a Zombie will come out, but don’t step on too many of them at once…" Lu Li didn’t expect this; Drizzle Court’s party was evidently very strong.

"Wait, you’re talking about the next Boss. Have you already defeated the third Boss?" Water Fairy was so surprised that she simply couldn’t hold it in.

"Obviously." Lu Li thought for a while and decided not to tell her the truth, lest her pride was hurt. Sometimes ignorance really was bliss.

"Lu Li you’re really strong," Water Fairy found herself without energy to be jealous.

To be told by a beautiful woman that you were strong would cause most players to puff up with pride, but Lu Li continued to focus on clearing up the monsters and wasn’t bothered by emotions. He continued to calmly explain what points of attention were required. After that, he professionally ended the call.

The fourth Boss was now the focus of his attention.

Lu Li and the others had arrived at a big yard. This place was probably more appropriately called a square; it was a large venue for the celebration of festivals.

There were many Sandfury Trolls living in tents within the square, along with domesticated beasts to defend the place from outsiders. In the innermost part of the square was a high platform with particularly tall steps leading up to it.

A troll armed with a long knife stood on the platform; he was the Sandfury Executioner.

It wasn’t clear what was in the cages that were on the platform, but it was undoubtedly clear that the most important task now was to kill the monsters within the square.

"Pay attention to the Sandfury Shadow Hunter. Flower, turn it into a sheep when you see it. Then, we’ll focus fire it," Lu Li told Azure Sea Breeze.

Azure Sea Breeze then rushed forwards with his large shield.

The monsters here weren’t that difficult to defeat, as long as you didn’t aggro too many of them. For Lu Li’s team, even the strength of two groups of monsters couldn’t stand up to them.

They spent a dozen minutes to clear out all the monsters in the square; even those that were sick or elderly were not spared.

"Don’t sit around. Let’s go kill the executioner," Lu Li said, not giving them time to regenerate their HP and Mana. The Sandfury Executioner looked quite overwhelming, but he was really just another monster and wasn’t that hard to kill.

They quickly dealt with it and it dropped a key.

"Oh, you’re finally here. Quickly rescue us," a voice sounded from the cages. The goblin accent was very obvious.

"Who are you guys?" Lu Li wasn’t in a hurry to open the cage.

"I’m Weegli. It must be Sariko who told you guys to come save us. That’s great! I almost thought I was going to die." The goblin was so moved that it was about to cry.

"What do we gain from saving you? Sariko promised us two packaged explosives, but none of us would ever use something like that," Lu Li said as he twirled the key in his hand. He couldn’t be blamed for blackmailing the NPCs as they were all mercenaries who hadn’t done a single good deed since they were born.

"Oh, you stingy man," Weegli cursed and cried out. "Look, we’ve been captured and have nothing for you! What can we give you?"

"Nonsense," Lu Li refuted confidently. "Don’t think that I don’t know you keep things in your backpack."

"Alright, alright." It seemed that Weegli was acknowledging that Lu Li knew how to do business.

"Gold coins, a large amount of gold coins," Lu Li said greedily, gesturing with his fingers. "And Gold equipment – at least one, wait, at least two for each of us…"

Azure Sea Breeze and the others were staring at him in admiration again. He carefully pulled at Lu Li’s arm and whispered, "You don’t have to be so greedy. How could they agree to give us 20 pieces of gold equipment? That would just be game-breaking, but I do like this situation."

"No!" Weegli was screaming. He was quite frightened by Lu Li’s conditions.
