Whoever it was they really wanted a baby bad enough to pay that amount and how much a row did they play in Alicia's demise. He promised Alicia's mother he would everything in his power to get those people involved in her death and bring back her grandchild. He hoped he could do both. it was a waiting game and whoever was in a rush usually ends up with nothing on their plate and he didn't want that.
He had promised Alicia that he would keep her safe and didn't do that and he didn't want to tip his hand. He was watching both of the officers to see who was the mole and he was going to try to get that mole on murder charges also If not maybe on accessory after the fact.The ex boyfriend's parents went on this very lavishy cruise to all of these exotic places and acted as though they were royality of some kind which turned Neal;s sister's stomach upside down.
He really wanted to get all of them but time was running out. The longer it took the more time they had to hid the identity of the baby and he really wanted to bring the baby home. He felt that he had let Alicia down and this case was taking a toll on his faith.
