Karen is most probably conversing with Barbara and Stephen b'coz they seem sensible to her.
Its 12:45am and Karen and rest of the cousins except Albert are somnolent and sleepy. Karen suggests then to sleep as they have already travelled alot and in the tomorrow's morning at 10'0 clock, they are to depart from home to the journey to Resort.

Well, Karen is already tensed about John that last she ended up the call with a shout by Sarah and after that John didn't call her.
