The men went to work and I watched the medic apply sutures to the wound and bandage Keith up. When the medic was finished, he gave Keith a painkiller and a bottle of water. Keith swallowed the pill, then I helped him up and we walked over to the elevator and stepped inside. I kissed him softly as the doors closed. He grinned.

"Is that for sitting down?"

"Um, yes that and I'm glad you're okay," I gazed at him.

"In that case." He took my face in his hands and kissed me. "I'm glad you're okay too."

I hugged him as the doors opened. We walked out of the Monument and joined two agents who were heading back to CTC. The adrenalin faded away and I was exhausted. We sat in the back seat of the SUV and the agent drove back to CTC. I fell asleep leaning against Keith, his arm around me and his hand in mine.
