They guessed that Enoff was duped big time and went on to explain that he was the victim of one of the oldest con games, and many people lose all of their savings from this type of sham.

Enoff broke down, sobbed hysterically and finally got it.

Precious and her cronies deceived him in such a horrific manner and took his money.

He slowly got up from the chair, and without saying a word, walked out of the bank and disappeared into the crowded street. No one has seen or heard from him since.

In just a matter of seconds, the gossip took on a life of its own. Just from that scene in the bank, people started to put together their own conjectures as to what really happened to flat broke Enoff.

None of the neighbors knew he was romantically involved with the woman behind the red curtains. That tidbit came out later when the clerk at the bank saw the fake documents with Precious's signature and address and immediately knew that was the old Victorian house. This is how the story got back to his neighbors.

Many would see him go in and out of her house, but they thought it was work related. The snoopy neighbors who saw her performing with an unfamiliar person behind the red curtains would have never guessed it was Enoff. He came over as such a shy and conservative person, but looks can sure be deceptive, many concluded.

When folks found out about the phony inheritance letter from London, many started to ask, "How could a smart and successful businessman fall for such a sting?"

Then, it came out that Precious never owned the Victorian house. Somehow, she and her fake lawyer manipulated the Awas into transferring the title to her, but the Awas were never the original title-holders.

It was never quite clear who actually owned the house.

With the deed in shambles, people were asking, "How was Precious able to buy and move into that house?"

As it turns out, she was a squatter and used the house as a front to put together her perverted scheme.

A few individuals believed she used her sexual expertise to get the better of men. It happened three years ago at the anniversary party. She was the one in the basement with Mr. Awa, and most folks believed he ran off with her, but right from the start, he was a doomed man.

As to what happened to Mrs. Awa remains a mystery.

Worming her way back into town, Precious took over that house. Since no one in the neighborhood knew or recognized her, she was able to play the role of a victim with her lies, and in no time, her tentacles apprehended another poor soul, that unfortunate soul being Enoff.
