Fifteen minutes later, Alex was driving down the dirt road of the Walker ranch, pulling up next to the large metal building that housed the offices of Walker Demolition.

Once outside of his truck, he was immediately greeted by Travis and two of his brothers – Kaleb and Sawyer.

“Thanks for coming.” Travis Walker was a business man and based on what Alex had picked up, he did little else.

As for the other brothers, well, Alex knew they were a rowdy bunch, to say the least. But, considering they’d taken a small demolition company and turned it into a thriving business, Alex figured they knew what they were doing.

“Not a problem.” Alex replied shaking the proffered hands before following the three men inside the building. “Is it safe to say you’ve acquired the land you were looking at buying?” Alex asked, hoping like hell they were going to say yes because if they didn’t, this wasn’t going to be a very long meeting after all.

“Not quite.” Kaleb stated, taking a seat at one of the desks in the small office.

Shit.

“I don’t have any doubts that we’ll get the land.” Travis injected, glaring at Kaleb who didn’t seem the least bit worried about his brother’s irritation.

“So why am I here?” Alex asked, suddenly confused.

“I wanted to show you the final plans for the resort.” Travis stated, picking up a cylinder that had been lying on one of the empty desks. “I wanted your input.”

Input? Alex wasn’t quite sure what sort of input he could offer, but he kept his expression neutral.

“As you know, this isn’t going to be the typical resort, and we’re worried about security. That’s where you come in.” Sawyer added, and Alex suddenly realized what they were getting at. With a smile, he took a seat in one of the empty chairs, offering the brothers his full attention.

Two hours later, Alex was once again on the road. He’d already called Dylan and Cole, giving them a high level of the discussion he’d just had with the Walker’s. Needless to say, they were both onboard, and Cole was going to talk to Luke and Logan.

After hearing the spiel, Alex knew this opportunity was right up their alley, and he wanted to see what their interest would be, if any. He got the feeling, the McCoy’s would be right onboard with this type of venue, but he would have to wait until they called back.

Just outside of Waco, that call came in.

“What the hell goes on down there in Austin, anyway?” Logan asked when Alex answered the phone.

“Based on my morning, a little bit of everything.” Alex laughed. “Right up your alley, man.”

“Sounds like it.” Logan agreed. “And they’re looking for investors?”

“Yep. I think they could use a little help in the startup as well, which is where you and Luke come in. I won’t lie, my mind is warped, but I think you and Luke take the cake on this one.”

Alex spent the next twenty minutes filling Logan in on what the Walker’s vision was and before he disconnected the call, Alex offered up Travis Walker’s phone number. He’d let Logan and Luke deal with that side of things. He was only interested in the investment, and what they needed by way of security.

From his perspective, this might just be the business venture they were all looking for even if none of them had been looking in the first place. It would take some time, but Alex figured that the Walker’s would have the place up and running in the next two years if their determination was anything to go by.

When Alex’s phone rang again, he quickly answered, fully expecting either Luke or Cole to be calling him back. Instead, he was pleasantly surprised when Ashleigh’s husky voice filled his truck’s speakers.

“How’d your meeting go?” She asked sweetly after they greeted one another.

“Better than I expected.” He responded. “Looks like we just might be getting close to a deal.”

“Well, at least it wasn’t a wasted trip.”

No, it definitely wasn’t wasted. At least Alex hoped not.

“What’re you doing?” Alex had planned to head straight for Ashleigh’s when he got back, hoping to make it in time to take her to dinner. There were a few things he wanted to discuss with her and now seemed like the appropriate time to do it.

“Sitting here, waiting for you.”

Alex heard the smile in her voice.

“What are you wearing while you wait for me?”

“What if I told you I wasn’t wearing anything?”

Ok, now this conversation was definitely going to be the highlight of his day. Could it be possible that his amazing girlfriend was interested in a little phone sex? That was one thing Alex had never done before.
