"I have a favorite I usually order at the Gelato shop back home."

"Why don't you order first and I'll see what you get?"

"Okay." John turned to the shopkeeper that had been patiently waiting for their order. John pointed at the orange colored tub. "Two scoops" he said as he held up two fingers for the shopkeeper to see.

"What was that?"

"It's chocolate with orange flavor. I think they use a dark chocolate instead of a milk chocolate so it's not too sweet. I know the name of it in Italian but I can't say it and make it sound right. Orange and chocolate are my favorite flavor combination."

"That's your favorite? Oh my God, that's my favorite combination too. I knew we got along together for a reason. I'll have one of those also. I can't believe we have the same taste in ice cream, I'm sorry I mean Gelato." She paused for a moment, a sad look on her face as she continued. "Michael never likes any of my choices; he thinks I have the worst tastes in almost everything."

They sat in chairs outside the shop eating their Gelato's and watched as people walked by. Jennifer suggested they should play a game while they sat there. They were to give each passer by a first name and say what they did for a living. John was very good at it. Jennifer was almost in tears a couple of times because some of Johns were so funny. She had come up with a few that were great that had John holding his side from laughter.

After they had finished their Gelatos John looked down at his watch. "I hate it when it gets late and I'm having this much fun, its twelve forty-five already. I guess we should be getting back to the hotel."

A sad look crossed her face as she replied, "Yeah, I guess you're right. It's quite a walk from here, we should start back. I would love to walk back, but we could take a taxi back if you want."

"What, and miss all the excitement on the street and your company as well, no way."

As they walked back toward the hotel Jennifer reached over and took John's hand in hers. Suddenly his stomach felt as if it had just sank to the ground and his face felt flushed and hot. He noticed his breathing was faster too. He knew he shouldn't be having the thoughts he was having, but she did take his hand in hers this time, obviously she was okay with it. They talked about trivial things as they walked along. The streets were alive with nightlife and couples walking by, neither John nor Jennifer noticed any of them though, the two were lost in their own little world together.
