Chapter 220 - I am, Zhong Yue of the Swords Gate
“Ao Clan’s clan master? Didn’t he go out to suppress Shi Qishan? When did he come back?”
Ao Qingtu was shocked, he watched as Zhong Yue walked into the center of the Dragon City, he mumbled, “The Ao Clan’s clan master personally asked for his presence? Is the Ao Clan’s clan master also that stupid? Can’t he tell that there are still countless uncertainties whether if Long Yue could become the overlord that rules over the whole East Barren?”
He was filled in disbelief; clearly, one who could be the clan master of the Ao Clan would never be an idiot.
So why would a dragon that was filled with wisdom and knowledge put so much weight on ‘Long Yue’, to the point that he even pushed away the experts from the other four clans?
While the four Heavenly Dharma Qi Practitioners of the Chi, Jiao, Yu and Po Clan were embedded in the Dragon Barrier, unable be move at all and seemingly stuck in mid-air. Clearly, the Ao Clan’s clan master had intended it to be a warning for the others at the expense of the four Heavenly Dharma cultivators.
A warning that was directed to the other four clans to give up their designs on Zhong Yue!
Which also meant that the Ao Clan valued Zhong Yue so much that they would even take the risk of offending the other four clans!
“So then, what makes the Ao Clan think that this Long Yue can rise in the land of monsters, the East Barren, and even rule over it?”
Ao Qingtu locked his brows and mumbled as he pondered, “The fact that Long Yue has established a territory in the East Barren alone is insufficient for a clan master to regard him so highly. This Long Yue is not as simple as how he has presented himself. I’m looking forward for the battle against him!”
Zhong Yue strode forward into the Dragon Palace, he glanced around and saw the ruins created by Kun Peng Race expert’s ambush. The palaces were crumbled, the pillars were collapsed and there were even roofs that slammed down from the sky, crushing the palaces into even finer detritus.
Countless dragons were flying around, moving away the ruins and measuring the land, preparing for the reconstructions of the destroyed palaces.
An old dragon walked out and said smilingly, “Please, follow me.”
Zhong Yue followed him and walked through a huge corridor, he trod past the palaces and suddenly, golden rays shone upon his face; a golden palace that was ten thousand feet tall was standing high with two dragon-shaped beasts crouching on the sides of its entrance.
Zhong Yue glanced at them and thought to himself, These beasts are like dragons and Qi Lins, are they the hybrid of the dragons and Qi Lins?
The old dragon brought him to the front of the palace and gestured for him to enter. Zhong Yue calmed himself and marched into the golden palace. Glancing around, he was shocked; inside the golden palace, the items were all gold in color – golden pillars, golden seats, golden floor, and jade screens with dragon carvings.
The inner space of the palace was incredibly huge, it was also ten thousand feet tall; there were rows of seats where each and every one of them could seat a hundred men; clearly, the seats were prepared for the powerful figures of the dragon race.
While in the seat of honor, sat a brawny old man like a giant. An unearthly strong draconic Qi surged behind him as if it truly a dragon, imperiously gazing at Zhong Yue.
While on the sides were seated the elders with golden draconic Qi surging behind them – it was a marvelous scene of dragons.
They were the elders of the Ao Clan, carrying the strong and powerful aura along with the uniquely saintly air of the dragon race. So solemn and dignified that it was nearly improbable for anyone to put up a fight against them!
“You are Long Yue?”
On the back of one of the Ao Clan dragon elders, the golden dragon formed from the draconic Qi extended its body and the head and reached out to the front of Zhong Yue. It stared right at Zhong Yue with its eyes burning like fire, scrutinizing every part of his being.
While the Ao Clan elder mumbled softly, “Strange, how strange, there is the blood of the dragon race but you are not a true and genuine dragon….”
Huhuhu——
On the sides of the palace, the other Ao Clan elders heard him and the golden dragons behind them also moved; golden dragon heads sized like mountains circled around Zhong Yue, the elders said, “Indeed, the Xiang Dragon bloodline in his blood is very strange, there is the air of the Xiang Dragon but there is also a hint of another bloodline in him….”
“A very low and petty bloodline, but somehow … there is also a saint power hidden in it.”
“En, his Xiang Dragon bloodline is fake, a subterfuge to cover his other bloodline. Where is Ao Fenglou?”
One of the Ao Clan elder furrowed his brows and said, “That brat didn’t make things clear, he only told us that Long Yue of the Xiang Dragon Race has penetrated into the East Barren, but he didn’t make it clear whether or not this Long Yue is a bona fide Xiang Dragon!”
“This Long Yue, he is very suspicious! His Xiang Dragon bloodline is not genuine!”
The shrewd elders had clearly seen through Zhong Yue’s cover, but they did not immediately take him down. In fact, in this golden palace gathered the strongest cultivators of the Ao Clan, even the ancestor spirit was slumbering in the secret realm beneath the golden palace. Not even a god would be able to escape from such a strong force of power. Hence, even though they had seen through Zhong Yue’s cover, the possibility of Zhong Yue escaping had simply never once even crossed their minds.
Sitting in the golden seat, the elderly Ao Clan’s clan master smiled and indicated for them to quiet down, “Keep calm, my dear junior martial brothers, Feng Lou is leading a pursuit for the remaining troops of Sha Qishan. He will be unable to return so quickly. However, he has reported everything to me clear quite perspicuously. About Long Yue, I suppose you all have heard of him?”
The Ao Clan elders nodded, “One of the Xiang Dragon Race, a half-monster half-dragon hybrid, closed-door disciple of Shi Buyi, cultivator who practices the【Monster God Ming King Art】, strongest monster Qi Practitioner in the level of Rebirth, strongest monster Qi Practitioner in the level of Awakening, and also one who has opened all five realms.”
“A lord under the jurisdiction of Gu Xia City Lord Gu Hong Zi, one whose dominion ranges over three thousand miles, a strong cultivator with exceptional combat prowess. He stomped four Awakening disciples into the ground on his first day in the Dragon City, and his combat capability can be listed as among the top ten Awakening disciples of the Eastern Sea dragon race.”
“However, we thought that he was truly a Xiang Dragon disciple. If only he was truly one, we would have poured our resources onto him and he could be of great use. But now, it seems like his bloodline is not real, even his identity as one of the Xiang Dragon Race is a sham!”
“Clan master, Long Yue’s identity is uncertain, we will have to investigate into this matter, I suspect that this might be a stratagem of sowing dissension in the monster race!”
The Ao Clan’s clan master waited for them to finish, he then addressed their concerns with a smile, “Actually, it is true he has another identity, you will all be shocked as none of you will never expect it. Long Yue, show your true face to the elders.”
Zhong Yue bowed and nodded; suddenly, his face and stature changed drastically; the dragon scales faded away into his skin and his body shrunken down; transforming back from the figure of Zhong Yue.
Zhong Yue then bowed and greeted the Ao Clan elders, his voice was sonorous and high-spirited, “Zhong Yue of the Swords Gate, greets the seniors of the dragon race, greets the clan master!”
He had to reveal his identity as Ao Fenglou knew of his true face as Zhong Yue of the Zhong Shan Clan from the Swords Gate of Great Wilderness. Furthermore, he could never hide his identity in front of the elders, the elders were so strong that they could easily force him to reveal his true identity, hence, why not just reveal it himself?
The Ao Clan elders were dumbfounded with their mouths agape, they stammered as he transformed back into his human identity. Suddenly, one of the elders exclaimed in shock, “Zhong Yue of the Swords Gate? Which Zhong Yue?”
“There is only one Zhong Yue of the Swords Gate!”
The Ao Clan’s clan master laughed out loud, “The one who has reverse opened the five realms, wrecked the Xiao Mang celestial temple, fought a bloody path of a hundred thousand miles to walk out of the divine battlefield alive – that Zhong Yue!”
The Ao Clan elders suck in a cold breath of air as their gazes were suffused with disbelief.
“The human Zhong Yue that reverse opened the five realms, isn’t he eighty-feet tall, eighty-feet wide, eight-armed, eight-legged, and eight-headed? Why does he look so different from the rumors?” One of the elders mumbled.
Zhong Yue was between laughter and tears, he never thought that the rumor would’ve reached as the dragon race that resided in the remote sea.
The elderly Ao Clan’s clan master said smilingly, “Most of the dragons in the Eastern Sea had never ventured onto land, even some of the elders have never seen a human before. They didn’t know what the humans looked like. When the rumor reached the Eastern Sea, even I was shocked, but thankfully, I’d seen a human before. I know how humans look. Dear brothers, the one that stands before you is a Qi Practitioner from the Swords Gate, the Zhong Shan Clan’s Zhong Yue, who is also the same man as Long Yue of the Eastern Sea!”
The elders guessed it, but when the clan master verbally validated their conjectures, they were still shocked.
Both of the two identities were extremely notable in their own right!
These two identities that he held were like two bright stars that shone upon the East Barren and Great Wilderness, together, they were addressed as the Twin-Yues. Their achievements were like two insurmountable mountains in the level of Rebirth and Awakening, they were both venerated as the most talented young experts of the human and monster race respectively!
Their cultivation techniques, arts and skills, and soul weapons were different, their races were unrelated and yet, they were both the same man!
“Ao Fenglou, he has made a great contribution to the dragon race!” one of the elders recollected his thoughts, let out a breath of air and said solemnly.
While the other Ao Clan elders nodded in agreement, their faces were solemn and serious. Ao Fenglou had connected the dragon race to such a talented young Qi Practitioner with such a bright future, and he had also opened the opportunity for the dragon race to launch a campaign for the East Barren. He had indeed, made a huge contribution the dragon race!
After tens of thousands of years, there was finally a glimpse of hope for the dragon race to unleash their wild ambition to the lands. They would no longer be bounded by the vast sea and the empty skies.
The elderly clan master smiled, “Ao Fenglou has made a huge contribution to the dragon race, he will undoubtedly be abundantly awarded for the great merit he has rendered. Little Zhong Yue has agreed with Fenglou to distribute forty percent of his territory to the dragon race. As of now, Fenglou has already instructed Yuchi Li to head over to the territory and establish a dragon base. From now on, as little Zhong Yue’s territory increases in size, the territory of the dragon race will also increase. Soon, there will be more and more dragons heading over to the East Barren to strengthen our foundation. It will not be long for the day where the dragon race step foot on the lands to come!”
The Ao Clan elders were overjoyed; Zhong Yue held two identities and the secret was now in the hands of the dragon race, which meant that Zhong Yue would never be able to betray the agreement he made with the dragon race, or otherwise, if the dragon race were to expose his secret to the world, he would never be able to run away from the monster race!
The humiliated monster race would definitely tear him apart alive at all cost!
Hence, the only choice for him was to cooperate and join hands with the dragon race Ao Clan, or otherwise, he would definitely come to a bad end.
Without having to be wary of the possibility of Zhong Yue betraying the dragon race, the Ao Clan was assured that the dragon race’s plan to conquer the land would be able to be carried out smoothly. Furthermore, both of Zhong Yue’s identities were incredibly shocking, which meant that his talents would be able to allow him to strive to greater heights in the future. He might even be able to be the overlord of the East Barren, if not, he would at least be a magnate in the East Barren, his territory would surely be extremely large!
With enough foundation and power, the dragon race could surely dock in and conquer the East Barren!
“What a young and promising child, truly young and promising!”
One after another, the Ao Clan elders got up from their seats and surrounded Zhong Yue, smiles on their faces squeezed their eyes into thin lines as they said, “The human race will surely be able to rise high with such a young and promising child like you!”
“Zhong Shan Clan member, today, you’ve joined hands with the dragon race. Tomorrow, the dragon race will repay you, we will help you to ascend as the Swords Gate headmaster!”
The elders praised him while Zhong Yue said anxiously, “Elders, you are all overpraising me. My cultivation base is too low now, I can’t uphold such a heavy burden yet. Do the elders have any resources that can help me in my cultivation progress, such as some treasures or cultivation techniques….”
Immediately, the elders returned back to their seats and pondered earnestly. Zhong Yue gave a frigid smile, These old geezers are really trying to gain something out of nothing, they don’t even want to pay a single price at all. Stingy, truly stingy!
Ao Clan’s clan master hesitated for a moment and said, “There are indeed countless treasures in the dragon race … alright, I’ll open the Million Treasure Pavillion for you, you can choose one of the many treasures in it. Other than the divine weapon, you can choose any treasures your desire, but only one, not two or more! Little Zhong Yue, what do you say?”
