Seeing the sandstorm raging his way, Qingfeng Li frowned. The level twelve sandstorm was extremely powerful, swirling up countless grains of sand and tearing cracks in the air.

Qingfeng Li’s group had been advancing in a path that led them directly toward the sandstorm; it was now too late to get out of the way. The sandstorm moved toward them at an astonishing speed.

“Seventh Fist, Shattering the Body!”

Qingfeng Li used the seventh technique of the Strangle Hell Fist, as black talisman scriptures radiated from his punch.

These talisman scriptures looked like a school of tadpoles, lighting up the heavens and earth as they smashed forward, cutting the sandstorm before them in half.

Boom!

With a loud boom, the massive sandstorm was abruptly blown apart. Countless grains of golden sand fell from the sky, back onto the ground.

Qingfeng Li’s seventh fist technique of the Strangle Hell Fist was extremely powerful. It was capable of splitting apart even the bodies of self-cultivators. Naturally, a mere sandstorm was no match for the blow.

Behind the Second Prince, the dozen-or-so men in black saw Qingfeng Li split apart the giant sandstorm with one blow and were struck with shock.

Although they had witnessed Qingfeng Li’s attacks many times before, and were aware that he was extremely powerful, the scene still surprised them.

The Second Prince stared at Qingfeng Li in admiration. “Taking you with me into the Crimson Fire Desert was absolutely the right decision,” he said. “If you weren’t here and I ran into such a sandstorm, I’d had no choice but to flee or die.”

Qingfeng Li smiled. Waving his hand, he said, “Everyone, stop the chitchat. Let’s go and find my friend, Sky-Devouring Snake.”

Qingfeng Li, Black Puppy, and Li Yang led the way, with the Second Prince and the score of black-clad men following behind them.

All of them shoved onward using their vital essences. They dashed forward like black cyclones.

A hundred meters ahead of them, Sky-Devouring Snake had also met with great danger. The Desert Giant behind it struck out with its fist, sending Sky-Devouring Snake flying and landing right in front of the carnivorous ants.

These carnivorous ants weren’t about to play nice, either. They loved eating the corpses of humans and demonic beasts. Seeing Sky-Devouring Snake, they swarmed toward their prey with great enthusiasm.

Sky-Devouring Snake’s expression changed. Opening its mouth, it spat out a beam of black light. This was its Snake Ancestor Super Power, an extremely powerful attack. It blasted dozens of the ants into oblivion straight away.

But there were far too many carnivorous ants. They numbered over ten thousand and completely surrounded him. Despite losing dozens of their ranks, thousands more charged forward.

Fear appeared on Sky-Devouring Snake’s face. It opened its mouth to spit out more of the black light, which flew into the ants with great force, tearing the air as it went. Its corrosive qualities ate away at the ants’ bodies, reducing them to dust.

But to use its Snake Ancestors Super Powers, the Sky-Devouring Snake had to exhaust a large amount of its vital essence. After using it twice, it was panted in fatigue.

This was mostly because it was severely wounded. As it was being chased by the Desert Giant, it had sustained many injuries. Now, having forcibly used its Snake Ancestor’s Super Power twice, it could no longer withstand the exertion. It wobbled as it moved, nearly falling to the ground.

The Sky-Devouring Snake glanced at the Desert Giant behind it. “Goddammit, “it swore to itself. “Why aren’t these ants attacking the Giant? Why’re they only attacking me?”

In reality, unbeknownst to the Sky-Devouring Snake, the carnivorous ants were friends with the Desert Giants. They were well acquainted with one another, having lived together in the Crimson Fire Desert for so long. The carnivorous ants didn’t eat sand; the Desert Giants, likewise, didn’t bother the carnivorous ants.

The ants only attacked human self-cultivators and demonic beasts. Like the Sky-Devouring Snake, the ants saw them all as delicacies.

However, this time, the Desert Giant did not intend on letting the carnivorous ants devour the Sky-Devouring Snake. The Desert Queen wanted this snake for a pet, he had to bring it back.

Looking at the carnivorous ants, the Desert Giant spoke. “You can’t eat this Sky-Devouring Snake. The Queen wants it. I must bring it back.”

Hearing the Desert Giant’s words, the King of the carnivorous ants shook its head. “I sense the power of the Snake Ancestor on this Sky-Devouring Snake. With such power, if I were to devour its body, I can awaken my ancestral bloodlines and become the Ant Ancestor.”

Neither the Desert Giant nor the carnivorous ants were willing to back down; they both wanted the Sky-Devouring Snake.

Stuck between them, the Sky-Devouring Snake was miffed. It was being treated like a pet. One party wanted to catch him, the other wanted to eat him. Dammit.

The Desert Giant and the carnivorous ants argued for a long time without an outcome. Neither could defeat the other, nor could they kill one another, so they were stuck debating over the matter.

The Desert Giant grew impatient. “If you ask me, “he said, “whoever catches the Sky-Devouring Snake first gets to keep it.”

“Fine,” said the King of the carnivorous ants. “I agree with your suggestion. What are you waiting for? Go! Catch the Sky-Devouring Snake! We’ll take him and make a great meal for ourselves.”

Hearing the order, the ten thousand carnivorous ants behind the King rushed toward the Sky-Devouring Snake. As though propelled by some the call of their loved ones, they surrounded their prey in a watertight swarm.

The Sky-Devouring Snake had his back to the wall, there was nowhere left to run.

It stared at the waves of carnivorous ants before it, a hint of fear in its eyes.

It knew full well how strong these ants were; they devoured demonic beasts and human self-cultivators whole, not even leaving a shard of bone behind.

Opening its mouth one more time, the Sky-Devouring Snake spat out another beam of Snake Ancestors Super Power. Again, the black beam of light killed several hundreds of the carnivorous ants.

Thud!

Completely exhausted, the Sky-Devouring Snake fell to the ground. The remaining ants swarmed forth. Opening their sharp mandibles, they bit down on the Sky-Devouring Snake’s body.

A wound was torn into the Sky-Devouring Snake’s skin, dripping blood onto the sand. Although its skin was extremely tough, due to its injuries and exhaustion, there was no vital essence to defend against the onslaught.

In addition, the carnivorous ants’ teeth were extremely sharp, capable of biting through even meteor stone. The Sky-Devouring Snake’s body was no problem for them.

“Ow!” The Sky-Devouring Snake howled. “Qingfeng Li, Black Puppy! Where the hell did you two run off to? If you don’t show up soon, I’m really going to die!”

Just as its voice fell, an arrogant voice rang out nearby. “Who dares to harm my friend? Do you all want to die?”

Hearing the familiar voice, tears fell from the Sky-Devouring Snake’s eyes. It frantically turned its head and, seeing Qingfeng Li and Black Puppy, he was filled with hope.

Qingfeng Li saw the state that the Sky-Devouring Snake was in and a flash of cold, murderous light shone across his eyes. These damned black ants… How dare they bite the Sky-Devouring Snake. He saw this as disrespect directed at himself
