Amanda and Ashley started laying their parents pictures that they had mailed to them at aunt Rosa's house. Their parents was remapping Route 66 to include towns that was still in existance. The had a list of towns that wasn't t sent to the company who had commission them to do this job. The young ladies put their evidence into a file of newspaper clippings, photos, and letters.That night they decided together that they were going to take criminology courses to become a profiler either for the police or the FBI in the next city over.
The next day they did their term paper to turn in on Monday to the professor who taught both History and Geography it was a very simple term paper on why they wanted to take the Criminology course the next fall. They listed several reasons but the one that stood out was they wanted to catch criminals especially involving missing persons and murderers Their professor assigned summer projects to go along with the courses they choose as their professions they choose to have when they got out of college..
Route 66 also known as US Highway.66 was the first completely paved highway in the nation. Work began on it in 1929 and the fnal portion was paved in 1937. It stretched from Chicago, Illinois to Los Angeles, California through eight states with over three hundred miles of it crossing Missouri from St. Louis to Joplin. Route 66 was replaced by interstate highways. Section of the mother road have survived and with it accompanying scenes of life in an earlier time. The two young women decided to tell their aunt that they were going on a summer trip to gather up information for their fall courses.
