Amber Shelby and Ashley Kimball being cousins had been raised by their aunt Rosa since they were very young. They barely remembered their old homes. It was a farm house that both of their families lived in together. Their fathers were brothers then all of a sudden they went to stay at their Rosa's house. Their grandmother told them something bad had happen and aunt Rosa would be raising them. Amber and Ashley both were four going on five at the time
Their uncle Sam moved their things into aunt Rosa's victorian house. The house was huge compared to where they ere living. Uncle Sam even moved their outdoor play house and sat it in the back yard. Both uncle Sam and aunt Rosa tried to make the transitation as easy as they could for the girls. At first the girls especially Ashley kept asking when is daddy and momma coming to get me...Finally uncle Sam told them that they weren't coming back.
They were enrolled in school. During their first couple of years when there was any school activity the girls would pray to God to let their parents come to see them. For christmas they would write to Santa and asked him to bring their parents back to them. Instead they got dolls and a doll house which their uncle assembled upstairs in one part of the attic One year they received a dog which was fairly large and stayed on the enclosed back porch. It was the girls responsibility to feed him and give him fresh water every day.
