"Honey, I'm not sure… It's probably a fluke or something. Well, let me finish making dinner and I'll see what I can do later." She offered. She was more than a little frustrated with the turn of events. She felt a little saddened about the whole situation, considering she left Mrs. Ellis's home feeling like they had parted on good terms. Did Old Lady Ellis give her the wrong number purposefully? Had those numbers been changed? Should she try again or pray and hope that Jayden would become distracted and soon forget about it. She was at a lost as to what to do about this situation now.

"I'll pray about it…" She mumbled under her breath as she went back to preparing dinner.

"Metal cleats are not used in baseball for his age range…" The salesman explained as he walked Jacob and Markus to the boy's sports shoe section of the store. "Rubber cleats prevent injuries. While this isn't exactly rocket science and there aren't any hard and fast rules for choosing cleats; the real choice is high top versus low tops." He explained as he pulled down several varying brand names and set them to the side of the bench where Markus and Jacob were sitting.

"Do you have a preference?" Jacob asked the clerk thoughtfully as he watched him un-stacking the boxes. He then began opening them; revealing handsome looking new cleats ranging from Nike, Adidas, Under Armour and Puma.

"Daddy I want these…" Markus pointed to the popular Puma brand of baseball cleats.

"Yea, high tops look cool and a lot of players like your son prefer the look; however I like the low tops." The salesman explained as he removed Markus gym shoes and slipped his feet into a pair of cleats.

"Personally, low tops feel more comfortable to me… They're less bulky and my feet feel lighter…" He said as he laced and tied up a pair of low top cleats on Markus' feet.

"How's that?" He asked as Markus got up walking and running around in them; testing them out.

"Also they grip my feet better… I don't feel like I'm going to lose my shoes when I'm running… And that's what count when you're running for that play." He gave Jacob proud smile. He knew his pitch sounded like a pro and that he could make the most out of this sale. "Would you like to try a couple of pairs yourself? You could get a feel for the fit and see what I'm talking about. That way you can make a better informed decision for your son…"
