"Man, I'm not like you." Avery asserted knowing what his friend was insinuating. Jayden stooped down with his clipboard making some notations. He had been promoted to night supervisor at the U.P.S. facility and one of his first acts as supervisor was hiring his best friend Avery.

"Well if you knew, then why'd you ask?" Jayden couldn't resist teasing his friend.

"Two words man… two words…"

"What's that?"

"Therapy… Get help…"

"That's three…"

"But you know what I'm talking 'bout…" Avery couldn't help teasing him back as the two of them quickly went about finishing their work for the evening.

"Shush man… damn… you're going to get us caught." Jayden grumbled at Avery later on that night as they were sneaking out of his room past his mom's room. They were approaching the final red hot zone as they went tip-toeing through the kitchen and out the back door. His mom had explicitly forbidden them from going; but it was no way in hell that they could miss this party. This was the party of a lifetime and they weren't about to miss out due to a couple of technicalities- a school night and the party didn't start until midnight. That was past their curfew for weeknights. Jayden had asked his mom for permission for Avery to spend the night. Once they had gotten back home from work around 11:30 p.m. they pretended that they were dog tired and rushed off to bed. An hour later after checking to make sure mom was sound asleep, they found themselves sneaking out to attend the party of the century.

"Hurry up dude…" Jayden waved Avery over to the garage. His mom had never gotten that automatic garage door opener, therefore Avery stood off to the side waiting for Jayden to back his car out and he would let the door down.

"She might… If I press a little." Avery said rehashing the same conversation that they were having at work.

"Anything is possible… But do you wanna tie yourself down like that? I mean with one girl? Too many fish in the sea for me." Jayden commented shaking his head as they drove down the street heading for I-57 expressway. "No can do… sorry…" He finished with.

"Dude I'm not like you."

"Liar… you're just whipped… That's all." Jayden sniggered causing Avery to give him a hard jab in his arm.
