Even the colleagues from the same company didn’t hear my argument with Tang Nuan, so how did Su Zhinian hear it?

Oh my God, could this be the legendary clairaudience? Or he’s like the Professor Du from My Love from the Stars, an alien?

But this is not a drama… this is real life!

Admittedly, I’m not a learned person, but at least I can differentiate reality and fiction!

Song Qingchun scratched her head harshly. She felt like her brain might explode if she dwelled on this any longer, so she gave up. Since she wouldn’t be able to come up with a correct answer no matter how long she spent investigating this, she figured that she might as well ask Su Zhinian directly.

Even though the injury wasn’t fatal, the wound on Su Zhinian’s head was still quite serious. After the sedative wore off, the wound started to twitch with pain. Even though Su Zhinian had never once vocalized the discomfort, Song Qingchun managed to notice him gripping the cover unconsciously through the night. Therefore, even though she had a boatload of questions waiting for answers, she didn’t trouble him with them while he was suffering from pain.

The next afternoon, Doctor Xia came to change the bandage. When Song Qingchun was sending Doctor Xia away, she told Doctor Xia about the little observation that she had noticed on Su Zhinian. The man was suffering from pain. Before Doctor Xia got into his car, he pulled out a black bottle from his medical bag and passed it to Song Qingchun. He told her to apply it three times daily to soothe Su Zhinian’s wounds.

It was unknown whether it was the miraculous effect of Doctor Xia’s medicine or Su Zhinian had magical recuperative powers, but in less than two days, the wound on his head healed completely, leaving behind quite an ugly scar.

When Doctor Xia came for the final check-up, he helped Su Zhinian removed the surgical stitching. Before leaving, he reminded Song Qingchun to continue applying the medicine because it would help heal the scar. Song Qingchun stood at the door until Doctor Xia’s car drove away before she turned slowly around to walk back into the house.

She raised her head to glance at the stairs leading to the second floor. She walked into the kitchen to pour Su Zhinian a glass of lemonade before heading for the study. Song Qingchun didn’t knock and walked into the study directly. Su Zhinian was seated in front of his desk, on the phone.

Song Qingchun placed the lemonade on his table. Su Zhinian looked at her and continued the conversation on the phone.

Song Qingchun didn’t leave. She searched for a book from the shelves and sat on the sofa, waiting for Su Zhinian to finish working.

Su Zhinian was indeed busy. After hanging up the phone, he started typing on the computer. Occasionally, he would flip through the document on his table and pick up his pen to scrawl something on it.

When Song Qingchun was one-third through the book, she tossed a glance Su Zhinian’s way. She saw the man lean back in his chair and pour the lemonade down his throat. Song Qingchun closed the book and turned around to say, “Are you free?”

Su Zhinian, who had his mouth full of lemonade, mumbled an unclear “hmm”. Song Qingchun placed the book on the coffee table. She patted the sofa before her and said, “If you’re free, do you mind chatting with me for a moment?”

Su Zhinian’s hand that was tipping the glass froze. He looked at her with shock. Then his grip on the glass tightened as if he had suddenly understood what she wanted to discuss with him.

It has finally arrived.

That day, when he used his superpower to control that truck driver, he knew this day would eventually arrive.
