"Don't say a word, just keep on walking," Jimmy Vegas articulated to Jodi as he escorted her into the subterranean levels of the complex. The pressure from his Beretta jabbing her in the right ribs causing her to comply. She knew it would only take a slight tug of the trigger to expel a bullet into her heart. His other arm was wrapped over her left shoulder trying to make it appear that they were lovers but in reality he was merely directing her at his will.
"What are you going to do with me?" she said softly as he lead her deeper into the subway.
"Oh, I don't know, maybe I'll drag you into one of the tunnels and place a shot right between them pretty little brown eyes of yours. Drop you where you stand and leave you on the tracks for the next train to chop up into rat food."
"Please, you don't have to do this. I wanted out of this damn game anyway," she said as he poked her more cruelly with the end of his gun.
"Hot stuff, you're out of the game alright and as soon as I find a quiet place down here, you're done for good," he spoke in a cold malevolent tone to the seasoned L.A. Vice cop turned mob assassin. For the first time in her life, she feared death for she had never been on this side of a gun before. From the top of the stairs, Jimmy had disarmed her. Not wishing to fire within the open public, she gave in to his demand and allowed him to take her revolver.
Jimmy saw a flaw in his plan when they came upon the token turn style and it dawned on him the two could not walk through together. He would have to let her go and have her walk ahead of him. There didn't need to be a large gap between them but enough to enter the device in single file. Two transit cops stood nearby so he had to play it smart. Jodi saw this as her chance to make a run for it. Just as Jimmy let her loose enough to have her walk through first, she pulled away and screamed as she moved forward from the turnstile.
"Help…..help, my boyfriend is trying to beat me!" she cried out as the two offices took note of the young woman pulling away from the man behind her.
"God damn it." Jimmy howled as he tried to back up into the arm of the turnstile. The arm only swung down and one way preventing him from backing up as the one cop approached him as the other went for Jodi.
