Pulling into the parking lot, Tonya asked Lela, "Is Pastor Leroy here tonight or something?" The rapper was notorious for popping in at this club.

There were so many cars in The Foxy Lady's parking lot, the ladies contemplated leaving. "It looks like they are packed tight. Do you think we're going to be able to get in?" Lela asked, with a sparkle of hope that she would make it back to her bedroom to the wine and tissues that were calling for her.

"Lela, I know we can get in. Look who's working the door." It was Spanky, Lela's old boyfriend. Lela was in a catch twenty-two.

On the upside, Spanky was still putty in her hands, even though they had not dated in years. On the downside, he was relentless with his macking. He took it to the point of aggravation.

"We might even get in VIP tonight if you show him a little interest. Come on; let's go to the front of the line."

A prominent male's voice stopped Lela in her tracks. "Little cuz, I know you're not going to walk past me without hollering at your boy."

"Heeeeyyy, Trey." Lela's sad cheeks turned up into a big smile as she ran over to her cousin, hugging him tightly around his back.

"How you been, boy? I haven't seen you in so long. I know you are going to get your girl in, VIP style."

"Yeah, come on." He turned and told the people behind him in line, "These ladies are with me."

"So how are Uncle Calvin and Aunt Dawn?" Calvin was her mother's brother.

"Daddy is doing his thing, as usual. Always trying to find new DJ gigs. And Aunt Dawn is doing her thing. She might be up in the club. Anyway, you should go see them sometimes because Momma is always asking about you." That news made Lela smile since Dawn was her favorite aunt.

"Hey, Tonya," Trey said, acknowledging Lela's friend.

"Hi." Tonya adjusted her black skirt, then positioned and repositioned her pink V-neck chiffon top. She rubbed her lips together to make sure her lipstick was evenly applied.

Lela was just about to ask her what was her problem when a honey-dipped brother covered with a black Armani blazer and jeans approached them.

Trey yelled out, "Oh, this is my boy, Neil. Neil…Lela.

Lela…Neil."

Lela recognized him as the guy who had been busy trying to flee a crowd of young ladies who seemed interested in their own private party. The ladies were practically drooling over him.
