She glared at him like a tiger going in for the kill, and then laid into him. "Don't act stupid! But, just in case it is not an act, let me spell it out for you. If you were stupid enough to think things were just going to fall back into place because we had sex, then you're even more washed up than I thought you were. Now, get out of here with a quickness, and don't leave anything behind or it will be trashed."

Tyrese was at a loss for words. "But, Lela, you didn't have to…we just finished…we coulda…I woulda…you shoulda…"

"It's a little late for coulda, woulda, shoulda. You coulda, woulda, shoulda thought about how I would feel when I walked in on you cheating on me. If you don't want to deal with the Opelika PD, I suggest you just get out. You can get your white woman, what's her name-Tara, Sarah-to carry your heavy load from now on." She laughed. "Oh, and thanks for tightening a sistah up one more time for the road. I really appreciate that, brah." She had to show some guts now, she could cry later.

From a distance, police sirens were blaring, but not yet in front of the house.

As a teen thug wannabe in Newnan, Tyrese had his share of unpleasant run-ins with redneck cops. Scurrying around her house, he grabbed his belongings as quickly as he could.

"You wrong for this, Lela! This is foul, man!" Tyrese had the role of victim down pat. He really couldn't believe she would treat him so cold.

"No, you wrong for this! I have done nothing but be good to you ever since we have been together…even when I knew some of the things you were doing were shifty."

"But we can work this out…"

"You should have been worrying about working and home while you were out broadcasting your other woman all over town. This is the end of the road, Ty, and I'm not going to sit here and waste any more of my breath on you."

Adamant on staying clear of the police, Tyrese ran out the front door. With his duffle bag draped across his back, he ran out of her life as quickly as he had run in.

Proud that she had the strength to send him packing, Lela got up, then locked and latched the door behind him, sealing closed this saga of her heart.
