“Same here.”

I start to walk him outside

“I didn’t know you had company.” He whispers so that Julian can’t hear.

“Yeah, we decided to hang out. Anyway did you need something?”

“I actually wanted to talk to you privately. Maybe at school on Monday, or when he’s gone just call me and I’ll come over, there’s something that I really need to talk to you about.”

“Ok, I’ll call you later then.” He smiles but there is sadness in it, maybe he and Amy broke up and he needs a friend to talk to or something”

I walk back in and Julian looks at me

“Oh so you guys normally hang out on weekends alone here.”

“No! It’s not like that, I stayed with his family when I first moved here, then I moved in here and sometimes on weekends his entire family spends the day with me. We’re normally never alone. He came here because he needed to talk to me, I think he and Amy have split up and he needed someone to talk to.”

“What makes you think that?”

“Well when he came here to talk to me he looked sad.”

“Ok and was that before or after he saw me here in your house alone with you.”
