David grinned and pulled out two airline tickets from his pocket. "Well, these tickets are dated for ... let's see ... the day after tomorrow."

Sara jumped up. "Well, I better start packing ... we'll have to go into Boston tomorrow ... I'm so glad you decided to keep the Lincoln, but where will you keep it, I'm assuming we'll fly out of Logan ... goodness David, have we got enough time to make all the arrangements?"

"Calm down. All the arrangements have been made. We'll drive down to Boston tomorrow morning, I've made reservations at the airport Hilton, and we can leave the car at the airport until we return. Once in Atlantic City, a limousine picks us up and takes us to the casino, where we don't have to leave until the limo comes to take us to the airport on Sunday afternoon."

Sara hugged David and whispered in his ear, "It sounds to me that you have arranged a very ... romantic weekend ... and since that is what you've been doing while I was sitting here all alone ... then, I forgive you."

David held her close, wishing she had answered his first question with the same excited enthusiasm.

Sara felt strange walking into the large department store that had once been so much a part of her life. At one time her career at Jordan Marsh had been important to her. A thousand memories flooded her mind as she made her way past the cosmetic counter to the escalator and up to the general offices. She paused for a moment at the door to her old office, then hurried down the hall.

Susan's door was open, and Sara strolled in, surprising her ex-boss.

"Well, I'll be! Look what the cat dragged in. Please tell me you've changed your mind, and you're coming back to your old job."

Sara laughed and shook her head. "Sorry."

"Well, you look great! Farm life must agree with you, or is it the farmer?"

"Both. I'm very happy Susan"

"I'm glad to hear it, although we have missed you around here. I just hope that guy of yours appreciates what he's got!"

"I'm sure he does."

"So what brings you to the big city?"

"Ah, I thought you would never ask. I've come to do some shopping. David's taking me to Atlantic City. It was a wonderfully impulsive gesture on his part. He's always doing things like this. I never know when we'll take off for a drive to the beach, or the mountains, or somewhere. It's been fun. You know Bob and I never went anywhere, we were always too busy."
