"I wouldn't care what other people think."

"You make it sound so easy not to care."

"It doesn't have to be complicated. It's just a matter of doing what is right."

"We are doing what is right."

"No, what you are doing is what you think is appropriate, it is different than what is right."

"Your father would lose everything he has worked so hard for. He would be rejected by everyone on the island."

"I think you give people more power than they deserve."

"Some day, you will understand how things are. I suppose that is why your father is so protective of you."

As they approached the door, Hayley reached out to open it, turning to Maddie, she frowned. "Mrs. Sommers is the one you are afraid of."

"I'm not afraid of anyone."

"I am confident she no longer cares for Father as she did in the past."

"Where did you hear about her and your father?"

"I will reveal my sources when you are willing to be open with me." Hayley rushed though the door, not wanting to hear Maddie's response.
