'But they know what to do.'

'They know they must take the boat to the island but they can't do everything. They can't speak to the lord and tell him they have come to take him to safety.'

'But, the orcas!'

'That's another reason. The dolphins need me for protection. The orcas are frightened of my ray gun. They know what I can do with it.'

Liala pulled on her dolphin suit. The tight-fitting garment reached from head to toes and ended in a single fin. When she wore it she could swim like a dolphin and keep up with them as they raced through the waves. Bottles of compressed air enabled her to breath when they swam beneath the surface. She grabbed her gun and hopped to the end of the deck.

'Crispin!'

She called back to him.

'When you next see me I shall be with the professor. Remember. That's the name he will be using. You must call him that.'

She turned and dived over the rail. Crispin saw her slip into the water with hardly a splash. A moment later she was lost amongst the leaping bodies leaving the safety of the sanctuary pool for the dangers of the open sea.
