Varun was agitated with her. He thought to himself,” Did she ask me just to defend me? Is that a joke for her? Doesn’t she know how valuable those words to me? How can she behave like that?”
Maya pulled the chair next to her and asked him to sit. He sat and both ate in silence while Maya explained him the whole story. Varun stood up and was agitated with her. He said,” Let me get the juice.”
She replied,” Okay. I will wait for you near the fountain then.”
He nodded his head as YES and went to get the juice. Maya saw him coming with the juice so she got it from him and gestured him to sit down. She saw him silent and his reflected sadness and angriness. So she spoke up,” What happened Varun? Why are you so silent?”
“Nothing” he didn’t meet her eyes and spoke looking the fountain. He completed his juice in a single gulp so he crushed the tumbler. Maya saw that he was crushing it hard as if he was venting all his anger on it. He then threw it away to the nearby dustbin with the same angriness. Maya understood that he was angry.
Maya then placed her hand on his chin and turned his face. He saw her and met her eyes. She asked,” Why are you angry? What happened?”
