After dinner she retired to the guest room to pack and head back to her home when Crystal came in and helped her finish her packing. Crystal told Shelly that she would take her in the morning and would talk on the way. After breakfast Crystal took Shelly and Donavan to Everglade City and parked at the ranger's office. and their house that had more of their things than the cabin had. Crystal became very straight with Shelly. She told her that the cabin usually is for just a night stay over and this is more a perment place and they need her here at this office instead of the cabin and she needed her to watch Donavan here and if she ever got a call from her or Shane and they told her to give Jim a hug she knew they were in trouble. She told her that man in the cabin down from them was a major hitman for the Baton Rouge Mafia and they are watching him to see who his next victim is but right now had no idea. That she was to call it in and then get Donavan out of here. She gave her a set of car keys and pointed across the street to a storage unit. She was told that during the last two days there had been more activity in thecabin down from them meaning there might be a meeting place for mafia leaders or drug dealers in the south and her room would be great for the FBI to use to stake out the cabin. Crystal told her they were from Baton Rouge and traded places with the park rangers down here and they work closely with the law enforcement being police officers before joining the park ranger unit. Crystal told Shelly they changed when she found out she was going to have Donavan. So their training as park rangers and how to deal with alligators and other species of marshes came from the bayou .Shelly knew as long as she stayed at the office in Everglade City she would be alright. At that time she thought that it probably was that the man was laying low and wasn't out to kill anybody but she didn't know how the mafia was and they might be having a meeting at the cabin and yes Donavan didn't need to be any where close to thatShe straighten up the house and rearrange the furniture in Donaan's room and put all of his things in the playroom. Life seem to settledown and those men had gathered at the cabin for a good old card game and secret meeting of some kind but everyone left except for the first man. Then two weeks later they gathered at the cabin again This time the FBI only sent a couple of their men to stake out the cabin. This time some of the mafia and drug kingpin from up and down the east coast. Again they all left except for the first man. The third time there were mafia leaders from the midwest. The FBI agents felt as though there might be a coup or exchange of leadership of some kind getting ready to happen so the FBI beefed up their stake out again. A week later a fourth meeting with the west coast mafia present. Crystal came to the office and told Shelly that they had more visitors and to keep her eyes and ears open and to keep Donavan very close to her at all times and don't tell anyone anything about them and even herself. She said to put these papers in the file cabinet under her name.
