When they came back she was told it was a boa constrictor who had been someone's pet and they took it to the zoo so it would survive. Shane told Crystal that he thought the cabin down the road from them was suppose to be empty so he wanted to check it out.He left and came back and said the man who was at the cabin said he was just visiting but he didn't really believe him. Crystal asked him if he thought they might be poachers. He just nodded his head and said they would talk about it later. The next day Shane took Shelly out on the airboat and had her navigate it and said she was a pro with the boat. That night after dinner she was helping clean and while putting away clothes Shane and Crystal didn't have nuch clothing in their closet just a few changes of clothes. She asked Crystal if they had hit hard times and is just barely making ends meet. She learned that they were on loan down here in Florida while the rangers here in Florida were somewhere else. Shane explained they were in what the government called an exchage program. The real job that she would be doing is the exchange program where she would go to different parks and wetlands or marshs for awhile and fill in for somebody so she should use to packing only what was necessary and as little as possible. Donavan was something different. They made sure he had all kinds of toys and made a playroom out of one of the rooms for him and here with not only alligators but also crocodiles and snakes although snakes was all over they wouldn't let him play outdoors.
