Their mouths hung open and eyes stared blankly at mine. "You said you wanted the truth… now you know. You guys have to get me into the Tomb."

After a few minutes, Erin and Lucia finally seemed to come back to the living.

"All this we can believe….somehow," they chimed in unison. "There's just one small problem. No-one's allowed in unless you're a member or an initiate."

"Yea… well… I'm an initiate," I answered nervously. "There's a ritual taking place there at midnight."

"Are you insane?" Erin argued.

"Probably. But for now, could you guys just trust me and wait downstairs with Sitri and Druitte. I'm gonna change and be down in a few minutes, okay?"

Erin and Lucia shot me a 'here we go again' look, but complied, filing out of my room with Druitte and Sitri following close behind.

I raced over to the bathroom, flushing my face with soap and water, brushing my hair and covering up the flesh wounds as best I could. I threw open the door across the hall. Rowan was staring out the broken stained glass window, the same raw defiance I remembered last I saw him, revealing his true demonic nature.

"Hey… thanks for shape shifting back… you saved me again."

"Yea… well no-one expected you to change so fast like that. Guess I have no self control like your Guardian Angel," Rowan barked, scraping his claws against the floor. "Just go meet your phantom lover at the ritual", he scowled, hurling shards of glass across the room.

Before I could say anything, Rowan was gone through the open window, shape shifting out of my life again.
