"Count Druitte, should I not return, lead the armies back through the passages to the Courtyard of the Undead. Make sure all are returned beyond the safety of the stone borders. Rowan, you are appointed second in command."

Dantalion moved quickly into the shadows of the cavern, staring down at his hands, no longer bearing razor sharp claws of a demon. "Now, I command thee, powers of fire, raise up and giveth me light. What's this? No flames emerge from my hands!" While most of his demonic powers were diminished, Dantalion tried using his powers of telepathy.

He heard my voice, leading him higher through the cavern ascending toward the aura of crimson flames, the scent of death clinging in the air.

He glimpsed the four winged demons from the Courtyard, guarding the eternal flames of Satan, high above the cavern walls. Never were the flames allowed to burn out. "My brothers, thee hath guarded well."

Upon seeing Dantalion, the demons called out to one another, using their deafening pitch in an attempt to drive him to madness. Dantalion spoke to them, "Thy powers do not penetrate pure demon blood. I am Dantalion, Duke and demon of the Goetia."

"What hath your Demonic Lord done with the girl?"

The four winged demons replied, "He hath ordered her to drink from the fountain of blood. Hath she not refused, he may have shown her mercy!"

"Mercy? For what purpose?"

"Mercy upon her sacrifice of course!" the winged demons screeched.

"Thou shall let me through before I devour thee one by one," Dantalion ordered them, knowing his powers were close to depleted.

Dantalion moved quickly, shape shifting past the winged demons, allowing him passage. He moved respectfully past the huge beasts, searching for what they guarded beyond the everlasting flames. There, beyond them, emerged a rock crystal tomb reaching from the cavern base to the sky. Clear in color and sparkling beyond the flickering light of the eternal fires, my translucent soul was imprisoned beyond the tomb.

My voice was somber. "My hopes have died with my body. My soul poisoned by a power greater than yours."

"I have led my armies here, underground for days trying to find you. Our powers are close to diminished and we have but one day left to restore your soul of my own power. If not, your soul with be forever lost here."

I had to tell him, to reveal the truth.

"Dantalion, it was a lie. Lilith. Satan created her as a storm demon to bring down your fall from grace. You loved a temptress with no mortal soul! "
