"Yea, it is," I argued. "You try living up to some prophesy. Knowing some dark horrible thing is coming for you, you just don't know when!" I screamed, running up the stairs.

Rowan followed me up, into the spare bedroom and stood next to me, staring out the stained glass window near the altar. He ran his fingers through my hair, gently brushing the strands away from my face. Why couldn't I just wake up out of this nightmare? If I told Rowan what I saw, even just showed him a glimpse of Dantalion, claw-like daggers and glowing amber-yellow eyes, then he could see for himself.

I hugged him tight. He pulled me closer, his heart pounding. He tried another attempt to convince me he loved me. He pressed up against me, and for a short while, began to forget everything that happened tonight. I remembered our first kiss in the grove, where everything was calm like it was right now. Then I looked out through the window at the moon.

"You need to go," I said nervously pulling away.

I had to avoid dragging him into my twisted life. And the only way to do it was to stay away. I didn't have the heart to say anything more. He was really perfect for me, I knew this. He smiled, trying to smooth everything over like nothing ever happened. I walked him downstairs to the door, hating myself as he left. Now everyone knew the truth.

I still wore the moonstone pendant Rowan had given me around my neck. I thought maybe since it worked so well the night of Samhain, I should try to see if I could attempt another vision of the future. I went back upstairs across the hall to the spare bedroom so I could see the full moon again from the window. I peered out, catching another glimpse of it above the tree tops. I knew it was a perfect night for foretelling the future. I remembered the last time I foretold the future with the stone. It wasn't quite the prophesy I had hoped for, but it did reveal the truth about demons. Dantalion told me that night on Samhain that when the moon wanes from the sky he must go to her, the Succubus demon of eternal damnation.

I climbed under my covers and slipped the moonstone into my mouth. I decided I would just go to sleep and let the full moon's energy foretell the future in my dreams. It didn't take long before I was dreaming:

There was a huge fire, burning in the center of the Courtyard of the Undead. Inside the fire were some type of winged creatures. They were like guardian angels watching over me. They were watching over Dantalion too. I saw demonic spirits, an army of them coming through the Courtyard of the Undead in waves like a raging sea of shadows. I saw someone I knew, the face was unclear. They were behind a barrier formed of fire. I could hear a voice but could not break free to help them. Then I felt my body being removed of everything I once was. Almost as if my spirit and soul had left me, and I was nothing but a shadow. Tears were streaming down my empty existence, and the Courtyard stood still. Very still. I woke up in the night, with the truth wet like rain on my face. I wiped away my vision for tonight.
