"They must be summoned forth, called upon by their rank and title, their seal etched into parchment or flesh. With their powers combined, they will possess powers threefold the strength of Satan himself."

The demons exchanged glances, and the spiked hair demon spoke to the other.

"Why do we waste time with mortal blood? Only an immortal soul or immortal embodiment will release them from their curse. You, yourself, cannot evoke them."

The dark eyed demon answered, "Within this blood are traces of immortal power. Only demons of the Goetia who have been condemned for two ages may be summoned forth between the realms of heaven and hell. My oath to them is to complete the task. When the immortal blood has been drawn and the evocation complete, they will pay their allegiance to he who evokes them."

A group wearing dark robes, their hoods covering most of their faces, gathered around the room chanting satanic words we could not understand. One of the members pulled up their sleeve, cutting into their flesh with a dagger from the table and passed it around the room.

The sacrificial blood was drawn from each member in the room, passing the dagger until a vessel was filled with the fluid. When it passed to Rowan, he too contributed blood, cutting into his own flesh. Erin and Lucia moved beside me, holding onto my arm on either side.

"We can't let them do this," Erin told Lucia.

"Yea, this is pure crazy," Lucia motioned to Erin, watching Rowan.

"There's no way that's a Book of Shadows" I told them.

We knew damn well what it was.

This demon that locked my gaze continued reading from the grimoire. Since I was a practitioner of the occult, and interested in demonology, I wanted to know more.

"Laurel, that grimoire is supposed to be a secret fictional book that reveals secrets of the dark arts" Erin explained.

"It's not the same as the healing powers of 'An it harm none, do what ye will'. This is hard core black magic, you know, demonic stuff."

The demon with spiked hair moved his way in my direction, turning the blade on me, cutting into my skin. Screaming, I heard the chanting grow from a low drumming sound to an echo, penetrating the entire room. For the first time in awhile, fear sank into my eyes.

Unnatural cold touched my arms as I was guided through the dimly lit room, smoke still clouding the air. I was lifted up onto the altar-like table, knocking over a goblet of wine, my eyes searching the dark eyed demon's for some type of response. I turned my eyes away to focus on the candles flickering against the walls of the room, waiting for the next cut.
