Across town, Chad was getting ready for his Saturday night date with Gloria, he'd be driving down Hazleton where she lived to pick her up, for the first time, for a proper date, he planned to take her to a movie and for a nice late dinner, at a charming Italian restaurant he knew of He took great care in dressing, and his dad popped in to his room and said, "looking good son" have a nice time tonight, and he hugged him close, they had an affectionate relationship, this father and son. Chad ran a comb through his hair for about the third time, and then he left for his date.
Gloria had taken equal care in dressing just right, as she whirled in front of her full length mirror, she too, thought "looking good" she had on a pretty dress in royal blue, clingy in all the right places and flared at the bottom, short enough to show off her beautiful long legs and pretty strappy shoes. Her red hair shined, her make-up was perfect, the eye shadow applied to highlight her beautiful green eyes.
Just then her doorbell rang, she went to open it, and each took the other in with appreciation, she grabbed her purse and a jacket for later that matched her dress, and together they walked to the car, she said wow! Is this yours? He said yes, one of a few, she said, ''I'm impressed," for it was a beautifully restored blue and white 1957 Chevy, with white leather interior, she noticed as he opened her door and she slid onto the sumptuous seat.
Chad said, as he got in, this is another one of my hobbies, restoring classic cars, the ones we destroy are delivered from a scrap yard, they must be in running condition, that is the primary stipulation, we are allowed to beef them up or strengthen as we wish, so I frequent the scrap yard,. And that's how I got into this hobby, and of course my winnings help to support it.
Gloria said, "that's great that you get to do what you enjoy and make a Jiving at the same time" he said, "oh, that's not all I do, I own a couple newsstands in Scranton, which I put some time in myself to keep an eye on the operations, and they do quite well actually, plus I've sold a few restored classic's, that's where the money really is, and I try to invest some of that, for my future.
Chad then mentioned a conversation they had on line about what she does, so you're a beautician, he asked? She said yes, but actually I'm an owner operator, I own the shop but also work in it, and I have five other girls, two also do nails, my business does real well, women will always want to have their hair done, they will spend money on that before they buy groceries, or clothes, I swear, he laughed at that. He then said, '"well your gorgeous red hair is all the advertisement you would need, I imagine?" thanks but all I need to do is to get the ends trimmed occasionally, the waves, body and color is all natural, I was blessed in that way, he said, "Oh honey, your were blessed in many more ways than only your hair," she looked over at him and she was beaming!
