She didn't sit down but stood posing while playing with her hair like some teenager desperate for attention.

Mandisa decided she had had enough.

"Mrs. Motaung." Mandisa said forcefully. "As your lawyer I suggest you sign the divorce papers now. If you insist on dragging this longer than necessary then you stand a chance of losing everything. Now your husband had been very generous but I swear to you if you don't sign this minute I'm going to advise him to give you nothing as that is what you deserve." Mandisa stood up and handed the pen to the older woman. Angela just stared at the pen, haven't heard a word of what Mandisa said. Her attention was on the stranger who was making his way towards them.

"Do you mind if we finish this later?" Angela whispered. "I'm about to get lucky." Mandisa looked at the approaching man then turned to Angela.

"I do mind!" Mandisa said and dragged Angela's arm down to the table. "Sign the damn papers." She said angrily. Angela didn't have a choice but to do as instructed. She quickly scribbled her name on the papers and threw the pen on the table. By the time the stranger reached their table, she was again posing and playing with her hair.

"She is all yours." Mandisa told the stranger eager to get out there. She didn't want to witness their flirting and she certainly didn't want to be anywhere near Angela Motaung. She quickly packed her belongings.

"Actually it's you I want to talk to." The stranger said putting his hand on her arm to stop her from leaving. His touch was warm and friendly but it sent shivers all over her body. Mandisa looked up at the man and her heart misbehaved. He didn't have soulful eyes like she had imagined. They were black, hard and watchful. They didn't match his voice which was gentle, deep and caressing. Mandisa found herself drowning in his eyes nevertheless.

"Why do you want to talk to her? Are you in trouble with the law?" Angela asked half joking, half serious. It didn't make sense to her that the man would ignore her for Mandisa. Next to her, Mandisa was plain and dull. She wore no makeup what so ever and her dreadlocks were held tight in a bun on top of her head. Mandisa didn't have what it took to attract such a man and she knew it so she was just as surprised as Angela.

"You are Mandisa Dladla right?" The stranger asked in that caressing voice of his. He didn't look at Angela as if the other woman wasn't there.
