Rain played spoilsport for the passengers at Majura Junction. Though the crowd in the passenger enclosure was thin, yet those travelling in the reserved compartments had to face problems. Moreover, the Platform No. 5 was also crowded with passengers of different States, languages and culture, waiting for the train. The entire platform and all the covered space was occupied by the passengers seeking shelter from incessant rain leaving scant space for movement.

Ramana could see the security personnel who were deployed at the foot over bridge and various enclosures at the railway junction to guide the passengers. Movements of passengers were controlled and they were released in phases from the enclosure on to platforms.

Ramana and Banu could see the Platform No.4 where the passengers in the reserved compartments had to face problem entering the station premises as only one gage was left for the entry of passengers of the reserved compartments on the city side. There was a huge crowd at the gate. As it was late night, there were no coolies available and the passengers had to carry their luggage by themselves.

Banu was vexed with the obnoxious environment. She pulled his hand to stop him and said firmly:” I feel to return home than to be in this hell. Even if they murder me, I am not going to be afraid of my death. What do you say?”
