Finally letting my tears fall, I took I-85 North and headed toward the airport that would carry me far away from Drake, and back to David who I hoped would never find out about what I had done. I never wanted to cause the same kind of hurt and betrayal to another person. I experienced that hurt at one time in my life and I was no better than Drake who did it to me all those years ago. What I did was even worse, because I was a full-grown woman who shouldn't have given in to her lusts. All those thoughts went through my head as I landed at the JFK and into the arms of the man waiting for me. Once I'd claimed my baggage, I turned and David was right there waiting in a Charcoal gray suit cut to perfection. He always dressed like the professional that he was.

"I am so glad to see you," he said.

Rushing into his arms, I dropped my luggage and wrapped my arms around his neck as he spun me around. He looked into my eyes and settled his trimmed mustached mouth onto mine. Returning his kiss, I realized that I was really happy to see him. "Thank you so much for picking me up. I know how busy things can get at the bank, Mr. Vice President," I said with a smile.

He had gotten promoted about six months before at Liberty National Bank of NYC. I was very proud of his achievements.

Placing me on my feet, he picked up my bags and we walked out of the airport to his Black SUV parked at the curb. Soon, we arrived at my Park Slope Apartment, which was located in the Western section of Brooklyn. I lived in a nice neighborhood, although my apartment was quite small. It consisted of a kitchen, setting room, bedroom and bathroom. I couldn't afford a bigger place on my teacher's pay, but I was happy to have a place of my own.

"David, you can put my bags in the bedroom. I'll unpack later," I told him.

I was glad that it was Friday. That gave me the whole weekend to recoup and get ready for my second grade class on Monday morning. David returned and sat on the sofa where I was sitting. He pulled my feet into his lap and slid off my shoes so he could massage my feet.

"I'm sorry I didn't take time off to travel with you to your friend's funeral. I know it had to be hard on you, baby."

"What was hard was watching Weston and the girls look so lost and sad. It broke my heart knowing that Alexis and Alisha will grow up without their mother. I was only a little older than them when I lost my mother. I still miss her to this day."
