Chapter 133: Quick, run!
“Damn it! See how I punish her later, if I don’t spank her, my surname is not Zhang!” Zhang Xiao Qiang cursed out and chased after her. He didn’t know what was wrong with her, how could she not notice it was a freaking D2 or D3 boss inside?!
He walked into the granary and saw Yang Ke’er shaking Brother Long. She was, after all, a relative of his. They might not be close, but they had blood relation. She could still think of him during such a critical situation, who would dare call her heartless?
Zhang Xiao Qiang cursed silently and ran to her side, using his hands to sweep Brother Long’s legs up. He then called to Yang Ke’er: “Grab his head and head out first!”
Yang Ke’er did not say much, and immediately lifted Brother Long’s shoulders. They carried him out. Just then, from behind, there was a loud shout. Zhang Xiao Qiang turned around to take a look, and noted a human silhouette flying towards them. “Fuck..” He cursed silently, and threw Brother Long’s legs down before dodging to the side.
The person who flew out smashed into the ground about 2m away from Zhang Xiao Qiang. His body tumbled then crashed into Brother Long’s body. He rolled over Brother Long’s body before coming to a complete stop. The limbs were twisted in weird angles, the back of his head missing a whole chunk as though something had bitten of a whole chunk. The whites of the skull could be seen, and fresh blood was dripping from the gaping hole.
Yang Ke’er’s arms sank when Zhang Xiao Qiang let go of Brother Long’s legs. She then felt the strong impact and almost lost her grip on him. However, that unfortunate man hit Brother Long, he immediately groaned and spat out a mouthful of blood.
Zhang Xiao Qiang did not think so much, as he hurried towards Yang Ke’er and prepared to lift Brother Long again. All of a sudden, 2 sacks of rice weighing a 100 jin each soared through the air and their paths split. One flew someplace else, the other was making its way directly for Yang Ke’er.
“WATCH OUT!!” Zhang Xiao Qiang saw the rice sack and screamed at Yang Ke’er, reminding her to dodge. She heard his shout and immediately stopped in her tracks. She was not in a position to move because of Brother Long, and before she could consider whether to release her hands, the sack of rice slammed into her back. Her hands splayed outwards involuntarily, as Zhang Xiao Qiang suddenly felt time slow down. As her arms stretched outwards, her eyes opened wide with shock, her frail body soaring through the air. In that instant, she had been sent flying forward about 2 to 3 meters, and she threw up a mouthful of blood as well.
Seeing her hurt, Zhang Xiao Qiang’s eyes turned bloodshot, as he bellowed out and charged towards her. He carried her carefully and flipped her around, using his right arm to support her back, while his left thumb wiped the blood from her lips gently.
She was in bad shape. Her breathing was weak, her face pale, and her delicate face had some gashes from sliding across the ground. Those thin scratches were like a red thread, as little droplets of blood seeped out. He pulled out the glass bottle and yanked it open with his teeth, before dumping the powder on her in his anxiety.
When her bleeding stopped, he laid her down gently and pulled out a Life-Preserving Pill for her to consume. After a few seconds, her breathing stabilized, and he carried her once more, dashing towards the door. He could not care about Brother Long anymore, even a thousand Brother Longs were not comparable to a hair on Yang Ke’er.
As he carried her out, he felt the ground tremble. Soon, the agitated shouts of a few men resounded from behind. A man in tattered cloth soared past him, slamming into the ground in front of him. Zhang Xiao Qiang could not spare a glance behind, he just continued to make a mad dash for the exit. Yang Ke’er was not big, but her body was not light, and it was not easy to carry her while running.
Another body soared above him, and he did not even bat an eyelid. He paused momentarily in front of the corpse before jumping over and resumed his dash. The D2 seemed to be fixated on him for some fucking reason, and he heard another scream, and felt the wind blow, as a body soared towards him. His sixth sense screamed with danger and he immediately dodged to the side, as a body brushed past him. The leg of the body hooked onto his leg and caused Zhang Xiao Qiang to stumble. He hugged Yang Ke’er tightly as he rolled onto the ground.
Fortunately, the impact wasn’t too big, it allowed Zhang Xiao Qiang to adjust his position, causing Yang Ke’er to fall on him. He turned his head while on the floor, noting the huge frame of the F2 behind Chen Yi. Chen Yi’s hands were empty, the gun at his waist missing. Even the 6 magazines on his body had disappeared. His clothes were a mess, dangling from his body, full of dirt and mud. His eyes were red, as he was gritting his teeth while making a mad dash for the exit.
The D2 had long legs, and each step it took was equal to so many more strides of a normal person. Although Chen Yi squeezed all his strength, the D2 reached him and swiped at him. Chen Yi had been watching out and he quickly ducked to avoid the claws. However, in doing so, the D2’s leg slammed into his chest, and he was knocked forcefully, soaring towards a Land Rover that was smoking. He slammed into the vehicle and bounced off it, before laying on the ground, taking difficult breaths. His eyes were filled with fear towards the D2.
Zhang Xiao Qiang did not dare continue to look, and he got up and carried Yang Ke’er, preparing to run. Chen Yi saw Zhang Xiao Qiang’s figure and shouted for help. Zhang Xiao Qiang ignored him, running for the door. Unfortunately, he stepped on a piece of broken glass on his way out.
With a ‘kacha’, the D2’s attention turned towards Zhang Xiao Qiang. It gave up on Chen Yi and made to chase Zhang Xiao Qiang. When he heard the footsteps of the D2, he knew if he carried Yang Ke’er he would have no way of escaping. At this moment, Yuan Yi appeared in front of him. She must have heard the commotion and come to check on his safety. The moment she entered, she had seen him on the ground, and Chen Yi being sent flying by the D2.
The moment she saw the D2, her scalp went numb. She had been thoroughly frightened when she had seen one from afar previously. This time, she was looking at one up close, and the frame of the D2 gave her an intense pressure. She was so small in front of it. If it swung its hands in front of her, she would most likely be sent flying from the gust alone like a dandelion. She had no intention of fighting it, there was no hope, only despair.
However, she didn’t turn tail and run, she didn’t do so previously, she didn’t do so now. Because wherever he was, as long as she was by his side, so what if they were to go through hell? So what if they were torn apart by that monstrous freak that seemed to suck all hope away?
She ran to him, her eyes bloodshot as she looked at him. It was just that, there was an additional fear in her gaze now. Even so, it was still a resolute look. As long as he gave the order, she would raise her blade and charge at the D2.
Zhang Xiao Qiang passed Yang Ke’er to her, and said: “Quick, run!” He then pulled out his Jing Wei Sword and turned to face the D2. Yes, for he who valued his own life so much, this decision had caused him a huge headache. However, he could feel the warm Yang Ke’er in his arms, and he had known about her feelings for him. He had long since treated her as an irreplaceable part of himself, even in the face of a situation like now, where he had to choose between her or himself, he would sacrifice himself. Just so he could protect this innocent, loveable lass who loved him truly. He was a man and one who believed strongly in his ideals as a macho man.
