***********
I sighed in pleasure as water ran down my body relaxing my muscles. When I step out of the shower, the bathroom is covered in heat fog. I wipe the bathroom mirror off and look at myself, my skin now tan and dark red from the water, my eyes usually a pale blue were now a bright and piercing green. I begin to hum the chorus of 'Angel' by Theory of a Deadman, "Maybe I’m crazy, maybe I’m weak Maybe I’m blinded by what I see you wanted a soldier but it wasn't me 'Cause I could never set you free..." A knock cuts me short as I am pulling my shirt over my head. "I'm going, Zadkiel, chill dammit!" I turn around and come face to face with Elena. Her cheeks crimson red in anger, "Who in the hell is Zadkiel? Where were you yesterday, you sure as hell weren't at school?" She shouts. A slight whoosh and the change in temperature make me shiver then look up to see Zadkiel behind her, a little too close. "This must be Elena..." He says his voice like silk. Elena jumps and a blood-curling scream fills my ears. She turns to see his face sorted into confusion. "I am sorry I did not mean to startle you." He mutters. I shake my head and Elena jerks her thumb at him. "Who the Frick is this?!" She squeals. I bite my bottom lip and sigh. “He is Zadkiel; he just moved here, I was showing him around town…” The lie flowed out of me like a song. She set her lips into a tight line pressing them together. “Zadkiel… Zadkiel what is your last name?” Her face showed no sign of disbelief, “I am Zadkiel Martin, and you are Elena Louis, yes?” He says softly. She turns to me with a look of surprise. I quickly make up another lie and shrug, “I had to talk about something while we were sightseeing.” My voice cracks but she nods. “Did his parents enroll him into our school yet?” I clap my hands together once and clear my throat, “I am starving, let’s go eat something!” Elena scowls at me as I push them out of the bathroom and downstairs.
