"You little vixen!" Chet raged. Leaping off of her, with one hand he stuffed his erection back inside his pants, and with the other held his right shoulder. "What the hell did you stab me with?"

The paper spike remained in his shoulder and he dared not pull it out as he began bleeding profusely.

"Got to get to a hospital!" he exclaimed, already feeling faint from shock and loss of blood.

As Chet stumbled for the door and took his cane, the paper spike became dislodged and fell to the floor.

Barbara got off the floor and found a long pair of scissors in a desk drawer. Holding it so he could see it, she told him, "Never try that again, or I'll use this on you, or something worse!"

"Don't worry. I'll be back. You keep making it hard for me to find you, but that's become part of the challenge. Just remember, no matter where you go, I'll follow you! And next time, I'll be able to finish the job."

Even if he came at her again and killed her, Barbara could not help but shout after him as he was leaving, "It wasn't enough that you killed Paul. You had to kill Gail, too!"

Chet stopped in the doorway and looked at her. His face had gone ashen white, and she didn't think it was because of loss of blood.

"How the fuck did you find that out?"

Too dizzy to realize what he was admitting, Chet slammed the door behind him and stumbled to his car.

So it's true, you bastard!, Barbara cried.
