Eraldo saw his opportunity, as he followed Nicolò to the strip mall and just as the man was getting ready to enter a shop he grabbed Nicolò by the arm and pulled him aside.
"Hello Nicolò, long time no see." Eraldo said with distain in his voice.
"Eraldo! How…how did you find me?"
"I would like to say that it took years of unearthing every stone and looking where criminal hang out, but you know until a few weeks ago, I never even thought about you. Although I am sure our father has been looking non-stop for you. No, I did not find YOU at all, the hospital called Erik about Alannah when she was admitted, thanks to you giving the hospital our last name they were able to locate Erik and they called him. He had been going to the hospital day in and day out for the last two weeks waiting for her to recover long enough to tell her about you. But you never left her side did you? You owe our family big time Nicolò, and now so does Alannah. So here is whar you are going to do. You are going to get her to trust you, more than she does now, you are going to tell me where you are headed, and then just when you have her fully trusting you, you are going to break her heart. Make her want to go back home. Do you understand me? When she gets to that point I will be there to get her. Now where are you headed?"
"Sto…. Wait why should I tell you?"
"Because if you don't I will take your precious Catarina somewhere secluded, I will tie you up so tight that you will not be able to free yourself and then I will bring in Alannah's fiance and let him rape and beat her, right in front of you, and then when that is done he will beat you. You will wish you were dead" He said, taking out a knife and holding it to Nicolò's stomach.
"OK - OK, just don't hurt her - please. We are heading to Storm Haven Island."
"Now that's a good boy." He said patting Nicolò on the cheek." But why are you heading there? There is nothing on that island but an old family and a small port town. And why was Alannah in the hospital anyway?"
"The climate of the island is why we are heading there, Alannah almost died from the plague, she was bit by a rat on the ship coming over here. The doctor at the hospital said that she needed to find a place that was free from harsh weather and stress."
