Before she crawled back in bed, Alannah fell to her knees and said a prayer for her family back home. She prayed that she would make it safely to the shores of Storm Haven Island, "and might Nicolò come with me?" she added as she said Amen. Then she sat in the chair next to her table and picked up her study bible and picked up where she left off all those years ago. She thought of Timothie McGhee, and wondered where he might be and if he missed her. Crawling back under the covers of her bed, Alannah fell asleep with a big smile on her face. No one had made her feel the way Nicolò did that evening. Yet no storm could take away the warm feeling she had still lingering on her lips and deep inside her. Not knowing what was brewing inside her, she slept.

She looked around the blackened room, everything much taller than she, to everything else she appeared but a small, vulnerable figure with big blue eyes, snow white skin and long, dark brown hair that was very nearly black in the dim light. Her eyes, which were not entirely closed, wore sadness in them, if you peered in them too long the brilliant blue would turn to nearly black. In her eyes you could see the cold stars as the shone their light from far above; they were agitated, as though she were searching desperately for something and still not able to find it, though she knew neither that she was searching nor what she was searching for. Then out of nowhere the voice, evil and cold came to her, reaching for her just beyond the next bend. As she turned the corner she screamed. Alannah awoke, startled, looking around her suite like she was unaware of where she was, she was shivering and she looked to her left only to find a stranger sitting beside her. Alannah was running a fever of 102 and for the rest of the journey she was confinded to her suite.
