Cameras brust brightly around us, as Darryl's sleek black Mercedes pulled up in front the building, the valet opening the doors for us.

"I hate the attention." he mumbled, more to himself.

There was a great deal of people with deep pockets, a lot of expensive cars heading this way. The parking attendants will be busy tonight.

I didn't expect so many people to be here, drawing into myself at the attention I was receiving alongside Darryl.

"I hope I don't embarrass you."

A frown knitted between his eyebrows, but he remained mute.

The moment we got into the building, someone called his name, but he scarcely notices.

"I am not letting you out of my sight." wrapping a protective arm around my waistline.

My heart beats lurches at his touch, a deep hunger growled within. Goosebumps rose along my arm, but I am not cold. No, I feel really warm. Very, very warm.

"Mr Stone, is this young lady your girlfriend?"

Darryl acknowledges with a nod and I'm left stumped as he draws me closer. The photographer taking two quick photos, moving along.

The cold air conditioned draft caresses my shoulders and I wish I had taken a shawl, smiling bright at the millionaires and celebrities gathered at the event.

The walls decorated with rich art work. Darryl skillfully snatched two glasses of champagne from a passing server, not spilling a drop.
