"We are going to make a run for it."

"No." I screamed. They were after you not me. I wanted no part of this.

"I won't go any further. You are insane. Those are gunshots. Real bullets. We should just wait it out, until help comes."

"Are you fucking mad? Get up. They are reloading. We only have sixty seconds before they fire again." Pulling me up with him.

"No."

He lashed the back of his hand across my cheek again. "Sorry sugars, you are coming with me whether you like it or not. You have my word. I will get you out of this alive."

I didn't believe him. Lawyers were good at telling lies. I spun, trying to break his grip, but he only slide his hand down my arms, gripping my wrist and twisting it inwardly.

I screamed, tears in my eyes. My lips trembling. Tugging me alongside him. Forcing me to the left and right as we dodged bullets. Glass shattering around us. Splinters cutting my feet.

"I need my shoes please." Blood rushes to my head, leaving me with a lightheaded feeling as we raced out the open door. Glass fractures again. A red light exploded as the marksman bullet hit the housekeeper, just as she stepped out the elevator. A clean shot through the head.
